The 3rd and 1 play call didn't make sense to me

I mean why try and run straight at the #1 defense in the league when they are expecting you to do just that.....Play Action anyone?

Play action so the clock stops after an incompletion, they save a timeout and you start another thread about why we didn’t run? Stfu armchair coach

Even if we complete a short pass we still had a time out, if it's an incomplete pass no harm done. We have been quick hitting it all season

Here you are playing mr hindsight. You are talking about changing the flow of the game playing the if game. Of course in your alternate timeline they need their timeouts

...because you want them to use their timeout and there is a decent chance you make the first down.

No need to be an a-hole. They still have at least one timeout regardless of run or pass. inconplete or stuffed you still can’t end it and time is virtually the same. Pick your best play and get it. Especially when they’re selling out the middle.

Maybe get the 1st, maybe not, but you eat up clock and force Minn to burn a TO. Good call. Who would have thought the unthinkable would happen on the last play of the game....

I was thinking the same thing. You didn't need any more yards, so it would have been a perfect time for a play action fake and fade to the corner.
