It took maybe 10mins to type that out.
Yeah, 10 minutes to type out.......2 hours to do the research

Not consistently at least like then, we’ve had moments or flashes of it.
I think he’s battled injuries since

Saints had 1st & 10 (after 43yd catch from T. Ginn) at Rams 13yd line and Rams only 2 timeouts with 1:58 left in the game.
Why we did not make them burn BOTH of those timeouts?
3 runs up the gut, Sean.
1 first down and the Rams would never have touched the ball again.
1 first down to go to the SB.
That's on the coach for poor clock management.
M Thomas was wide open on the slant and Drew threw it at his ankles. Complete that pass and he gets, at MINIMUM, 7 yards on that play.
It was the right play call for the defense LA was in. Just horrible execution on a pass Drew completes 97% of the time.

Low underrated moment...I still wonder if something happened to Brees in that falcons game during the 2018 season. Up until that point we looked amazing on offense and Brees was an mvp candidate. After that the offense never quite got back on track.
That's right.
We had unloaded on the Rams with 45 points, The Bengals with 51 (lol well they sucked), and kicked the shite out of the Eagles 48-7 but that divisional round vs. Philly was a total different story. We had some huge 3rd conversions in that game and they had no answer for MT13.
The Tampa and Atlanta games the first time around were both shootouts and the Tampa game was a loss Week 1.

Brees 100% got hurt trying to make the tackle against Atl after the interception on thanksgiving i. 2018. Heard it from a couple different people that are plugged in

As much as I hate that we didn't get a 2nd ring (or a shot), I can't help but think how elusive and complete a team needs to be 99 out of 100 times to win or get that far.
Look at Peyton Manning's Indy years, yes I know he got that second ring...but still Indy had on of the arguable GOATs for 13 years. To only make 2 superbowl appearances and 3 championships, it's crazy.
2002-2010. 9 straight years of 10+ wins, 1 ring
2002 4th seed; lost wild card
2003 3rd seed; lost AFC championship (MVP*)
2004 3rd seed; lost divisional round (MVP*)
2005 1st seed; lost divisional round
2006 4th seed; won super bowl
2007 2nd seed; lost divisional round
2008 3rd seed; lost wild card (MVP*)
2009 1st seed; lost super bowl (MVP*)
2010 5th seed; lost wild card
I truly hate that we wasted his prime moreso than the last 3 years. I hate that we had our shot (SF and LA Rams), but we squandered it. But I'm glad we at least got a ring and if this is the end, I'm happy to experience something for half of my life I know most adults are still wishing they got to experience.

Yeah I just don’t think he ever got back from it

He didnt. And there are so many what-ifs that may have gotten us another ring.
Him not making that tackle, gregg williams not being an idiot in the last minute in 2012, a referee making a correct call, turnovers. So fricking frustrating.

I love Brees but if we wasted his prime,he was 5p million in cap space this year and next, when he will be sitting in a booth still getting paid by the saints to throw 3 ints in a playoff game, then goes out after the game and let's the quarterback of the team that just beat him throw a 'td" pass to his son? Grow some balls, earn your money or retire, refund and quit. And you can't use age as an excuse, beady is older, didn't have a 4 week break and still beat him. Michael Thomas, cooks fumble or no one else had anything to do with the 3 piss poor descions on the interception throws. This dude has been getting a million dollar welfare check

Yeah it sucks but again...it’s just fricking hard to make a super bowl run. That super bowl run easily could have ended if Favre didn’t go full retard
Look at Rodgers, for all his greatness he hasn’t sniffed one in a while either

Oh trust me, im not upset that we underachieved. Im happy we got the one. Alot of luck involved. 10 years from now, i think the super bowl is what we will remember alot more than these playoff losses

As someone else alluded to, the true crime were those wasted 7-9 years..full of bad drafts and horrible FA decisions

or the year we decided to go hard after players from ACC power house, wake forest

I forgot who said it, but the best retirement gift we couldve given brees, would be to go up against those saints defenses for an entire season
