Taysom is gonna be a HUGE part of this year’s offense. Way more valuable to keep his current role than to try to play QB again. He would be at a huge disadvantage not having himself as a weapon to distribute the ball to. With Rasheed hurt, he’s probably our 2nd best weapon on offense behind Olave. And I’d listen to an argument for him as our best.
We have to—and will—keep 3 QBs not named Taysom.

I would imagine you could IR Haener for his skin cancer and play that game; get him treatment and allow him to keep competing for the spot going into next year.

Meh. I think they feel much more comfortable with him as a the backup this year than Rattler. Rattler has the higher ceiling, but he’s not ready to be the backup on a playoff team, which, as much as we may all scoff at that idea, the Saints’ organization thinks they can win a bad division and get in the playoffs.

I think Rattler has a better upside than Haener.
Was hoping Haener was good, and maybe with the number 1's is TBD. I still think with Oklahoma/ SC experience makes Rattler a better option.
That said, the Saints always struggle with backup QB's.
