Taysom has proven he is a more than adequate passer in Drew's absence. He was already a proven runner and receiver. Once Drew comes back when Taysom steps in for his one play here and there, teams will not know whether he will run or pass. CSP is great at utilizing the talent and will make Taysom even more dangerous.

Good point. I think SP will be much more confident calling misdirection pass plays for him. I definitely felt as though he didn’t trust him to make a throw in crucial situations before Brees’ injury.

Lets see some packages with Brees and Taysom both at QB wildcat style!

The thing I dont get is why payton wouldnt run more passing plays before when hill came in

It's a win win.
If he doesn't see anything let him take off and run

I think while a Taysom pass play call in the past provided a "possibly-catch-them-in-run-defense" big play element, ultimately, it was still a decision to pass. Maybe Sean was more confident in the odds that Brees could execute a crucial precision pass.(???)

that td pass to cook yesterday and that deep out to the right sideline to Thomas yesterday were big boy throws. Nice not having to throw a screen on every 3rd and 11.

If he hadn’t had those fumbles, his game yesterday would have been nuts.

I think there are more options with Hill and 41 than Hill and 9.

Example, both Hill and Kamara in backfield with direct snap to Kamara. Decoy hill and Kamara run, Hill lead block and kamara sweep, Kamara pitch to Hill and Hill has pass option. How about a basketball type inside outside game with Hill and Kamara. One runs sweep outside while the other decoys through the line to get behind the defense for a dump pass. WR run slants to the opposite side taking the coverage with them leaving an open field on the play side.

This has been the biggest difference IMO. There were a few third and longs last week where we would have never converted with drew. We’d throw the kamara screen or Thomas slant and punt. Now we actually push the ball down the field which can greatly open up the short game

Sounds good in theory but I hope it doesn't mean to taking Brees out more than before.

If Brees comes out on a 3rd and 4 for Taysom to throw a pass, that's just not a very efficient use of players IMO.
