Any other board members making the Tampa trip? We are flying out of MSY on Southwest (14,040 points or $250 round trip, direct flight)Saturday afternoon and land back in NOLA at 7:25am Monday morning.

I'd like to be there longer but a work function that Saturday morning is keeping me from leaving earlier.

Is there usually a pretty big Saints set up in Tampa?

My comment from another post:

Stay here: International Mall Hotel . It's connected to the International Mall, which is the best mall in Tampa. Has an awesome food court that includes The Captial Grill, The Blue Martini, Cheesecake Factory, among others. It's also in between the airport and Ray J, approx. 5 minutes from both. We go to the mall every year because there are tons of Saints fans walking around and it's pretty cool. You won't be disappointed. Hopefully we are in contention come December. If so, you won't regret making this your away game. We take the stadium over year in and year out. The tailgating is awesome. Saints fans come in busloads. Make sure you set up tailgate in the RV lot.

I think the wife and I are going solo on this trip so we will probably pick up some booze and try to join a Saints tailgate rather than set up on our own

That's what I'm saying. Head to the RV Lot on the northwest side of the stadium. That's the best spot. Look for the huge arse Bucs flag flying, won't miss it.

Made this trip a couple years ago. The @Tampa game was their home opener I believe. It was the game where there was about an hour lightning delay.

The atmosphere was fairly lame to start, and the stadium wasn't close to full for the first drive up until the weather delay. Then the rain hit. I'd say that about 1/3 of the fans left and went home... AT THE HOME OPENER.

Anyway, we had a great time, despite some Buc fan arse holes. The atmosphere will certainly make you appreciate what we've got!

Wouldn't really base a road experience off of that sh-- show. Was there as well and it was a terrible experience with the weather.

You would get the same experience sticking your head in a 350 degree oven for 5 minutes as a September 3hr game at Raymond James stadium...

not sure yet, probably something in the lower endzone

tickets aren't too expensive on the NFL ticket exchange but I'd like to get my hands on the presale password to see what face value is

Going as well. There are tons of Saint's fans in Tampa. Just dress cool, that stadium is like a Sauna.
