How did you deduce this from me saying I'd admit my mistake if Hicks turned out to be a great player?
get an education in English and then we'll talk. Reading comprehension....makes life easier.

Cute.
Done arguing with you. We'll revisit this throughout the season.

Every player ever drafted in the history of the Draft is drafted on potential.
Colts: "Peyton Manning could potentially turn into a HOF'er. Let's draft him."
Chargers: "Ryan Leaf could potentially turn into a HOF'er. Let's draft him."
Patriots: "Tom Brady could potentially provide quality depth at our QB position or simply shock us all and turn into a HOF'er. Let's draft him."
Saints: "Hicks is a guy that we really studied. He's got the height, weight, speed; the kind of guy we are looking for in our system...We love his tenacity. We are excited about this player...He is a big-bodied kid. He fits the character of our football team...He's got good work habits. We love his resiliency...Akiem stuck out. We are pretty glad we got him...(At the East-West Shrine game,) He dominated. He threw some bodies around there...He has raw pass rush ability, good feet, good hands......I recognize a little bit of edge rush. Certainly, I think he can be an inside rusher on 3rd down...He passes the eyeball test, he passes the commitment test. He passes the resiliency test...In the 3rd round, you want a guy that has some redeeming qualities of greatness. You cant coach his size and quickness & what this kid is on the hoof." (LET'S DRAFT HIM!")

Lol, I'm trolling because I disagree with one pick, think our defensive drafting has left some to be desired, feel we've underperformed in the postseason due to a mediocre defense, and don't think we'll win the Super Bowl without one of the top head coaches in the league?
I've been a Saints fan as long as anyone on here. I don't post much on here (or the LSU Rant) because it's evident anyone who disagrees with anything is a mindless troll, bandwagoner.
The MSB is the only place you can get a semi-objective opinion not soaked in homerism.

No that part I'm ok with. Its the degrading view of our team and your ignorant and simplistic view of our past 5 seasons that i consider trolling

I love that he is crying that he can't get a debate of "semi-objective opinion" here at Saints Talk, but yet all he has spewed is dipshit "subjective" opinions of his own:
- "This has been the worst offseason ever." (subjective...& narrow-minded to use ONE third round pick to come to this conclusion)
- "...over a three year starter who could really help us against the run." (subjective ...& ignorant of need for an inside disprutor or that we have thoroughly addressed run-stuffing upgrades in FA )
- "I just think this staff focuses a little too much on potential when it comes to the defensive side of the ball." (subjective...& ignorant of the inseparable correlation between "potential" & "every draft prospect ever")
- "This sorry defense will continue to be the anchor to one of the greatest offenses and QBs in league history." (subjective dumbass prophecy)
- "I do think Spags will do well but don't think it will be because of Hicks." (subjective & baseless)
- "I don't see us winning it all without our General." (subjective ...& illogical bait-&-switch debate from demise-by-Hicks, then demise-by-sorry-defense, then demise-by-No-General)

Multiple unbiased individuals giving subjective opinions on a topic is considered an objective sample base. Do you understand how this works? Thus my claim that the MSB is where you find objective thoughts was based on the above-stated premise. My opinion, like those of the unbaised, non-homer opinions on the MSB, is of course subjective yet when taken as a whole the population discussing the topic is objective.

You think this is where I to this conclusion?

Thompson is known as a penetrating, run-stuffing DT who can play all alignments from nose out to the 3-tech. He, Ellis, and Bunkley would be perfect together.

You don't think there are some prospects who are more known commodities with lower ceilings versus those who have higher potential but less productivity?

My opinion.

"I do think Spags will do well but don't think it will be because of Hicks." (subjective & baseless)
Again, my opinion and not sure how you could say it's baseless.

It's not baseless. Someone was discussing how if Spags improves our defense only marginally then we will be in the Super Bowl insinuating that all other aspects of our team would be the same and an improvement in the defense would land us in the Super Bowl. I was merely pointing out that all aspects aren't the same as the leader of our damn team is gone.
