Ticket Update:
I just had a lengthy conversation with my rep. She told me that they do not even have any tickets to sell.
I called her out and forwarded her the release saying that they only distributed about 4,000 of their alotment. She then came back and said that the rest of the tickets are for players, coaches, and staff.
You heard that... ~8,000 tickets for the players, coaches, and staff and only ~4,000 for the fans. I think she is full of shite personally.

Yeah between players front office staff and sponsors that 8,000 will go pretty quick.

Total horse shite if you ask me....
Just in the past 3 years, I have gotten aggravating phone calls offering me additional season tickets and trying to be sold New Orleans VooDoo tickets.
I'd like to go to this game, but it is getting to the point where it may be financially reckless.

Something tells me the demand for Voodoo tickets is not at the same level as the Super Bowl.

hotels would not have been the issue if you would have booked them a month or so ago. you can always cancel the room. by the way, i feel for the old time season ticket holder. while i havent been going since 1967, i have been going since 1980, but this was the fair way to do this. if there was a more fairer way, id like to hear it.

Even if the lottery was only for people who had tickets for 20 years there would still be a ton of people who wouldn't get tickets. At the same time are they more worthy than the guy who has 20 tickets for 15 years.

Newbomb, Where did you get this information? I wish I had seen this somewhere before I went off. Still do not like it, but if this is accurate, it explains a lot that was left out of what I read and saw on the news.
A friend whose parents have had 4 tickets since 1967 told me this. It came from their rep. His parents won some of the $500 tickets. They were planning on going to the game anyway, so they don't mind picking them up in Miami. But, they were hoping for 4 tickets. They're trying to line up two more.
I'm trying to line up 2 as well. A friend of mine works for the Texans and each team is given a bunch of tickets. If he can get any, he's going to let me buy them. Long shot, but there is a chance.

Start from the oldest ticket holder and go down the line you get left out tough shite. My two cents.

my 2 cents...
Jamoore, I couldn't agree more. WTF are they thinking? Even if I was still left out, that to me is the only way to do it. I probably would not be so disappointed, but have make the plane reservations already. I am sure I am not the only one they left hanging.

I think the lottery approach is fair eventhough I have had 7 tickets in my name for about 10 years and did not get tickets. However, I have a real problem with the way the Saints are conducting the lottery process, namely:
1) Lack of transparency. You can tell me that the lottery is weighted by seniority and number of tickets but that doesn't tell me shite. I want to know EXACTLY how seniority is rewarded and how number of tickets are rewarded. I called the Saints office and was told that the lottery is conducted by (@#$%ing!!!!!!) Ticketmaster using some proprietary formula that is NOT AVAILABLE for us to look at. The ticket office claimed they didn't even have access to it. I find this to be complete bullshite. IMO the Saints should put out a public statement indicating EXACTLY how the lottery would work and not a general statement that simply gleens over the process.
2) The Saints were awarded 12,600 but only 4,000 went into the lottery. I know that the team will (and should) get a certain portion of the 12,600. I have also found out that a large portion of these 12,600 tickets are being sold via Saints Travel Packages. In other words, the team is trying to make more money from the fans than they would by simply selling us the tickets via lottery. So instead of simply paying the $500 or $800, you will have to drop between $4,000 and $11,000 for the mega-inflated travel packages. I'm not sure about this but I have a feeling that the number of tickets to be included in the possible 2nd offering of tickets (which has been very poorly explained, as well) will depend on what is left after sale of these travel packages. If they sell well, few will be left for the 2nd lottery (if there even will be one).
3) How about some common courtesy to simply send out an email to ALL season ticket holders whether you won the lottery or not. It would have been nice to get one saying, "Sorry but you weren't selected in the Superbowl Lottery. However, the Saints still thank you for your support." Instead we were forced to sit on pins and needles and left to wonder if an email would ever come. I am sure the folks working the phones at the ticket office would have appreciated this as well.
I'm sure this post will come off a "pissy" but I want to clarify that I am not terribly upset. I think that a lottery is the fair way to do things. I just think the Saints Ticket Office could have done a MUCH better job of conducting the process instead of coming across as a Mickey Mouse operation.

Sal I think you will luck up and get some man. I think they will have another round of tickets and take care of the "old school". I just have that feeling good luck buddy.

I won the right to buy the $500 tickets, called the ticket office to confirm and was told that I would have to pick up the actual tickets Sunday at the Stadium. So that night I booked a non-refundable Charter Flight thru the Saints Travel vendor that departs SUNDAY morning and returns a few hours after the game.
AWESOME!!!!
NO- I go to Saints Office to pay and pick up my ticket voucher and I am told NO PICK UP ON SUNDAY- All tickets must be picked up in person Wed-Sat ONLY in Fort Lauderdale. No Exceptions.
So now I have a pair of tickets I cant get because i wont be in Fort Lauderdale until Sunday.
WTF!!

I will say it again, the Saints Ticket Office are acting like a Mickey Mouse Operation. Their ineptitude throughout the lottery process has been an embarrassment.

holy shite, that sucks.
is your voucher transferable so you could trade with someone who got $800 tickets (in hand)?

They actually told me to get a friend to pick them up...So I have to find a friend in Fort Lauderdale (which I dont have) who is willing to go wait in line to get my tickets early in the week, then spend Super Bowl Sunday trying to locate me at the Stadium amongst the 100,000 + other fans....are you kidding me.

Anne, I'll give you $2,200 for your pair. You make $1,200 profit to find tickets elsewhere.
