Reid cannot cover in the NFL

The 49ers run a 4-3 with a shell and Reid will be playing back. I think Reid is very physical and fits the type of player the 49ers love on Defense. i wish him wellI

Well we only traded one 3rd pick to move up to guarantee we got the highest rated S on our board. Good deal if you ask me.

Still have three picks tomorrow including the #34 and #61 overall. The 49ers had 13 picks, they aren't going to keep 13 players, I doubt any team save Jacksonville would have.

Teams don't just spend picks to spend them. They knew that the Bengals were a threat to nab Reid so they did what they had to do. Reid is the perfect safety for hard-hitting systems such as San Fran and Pittsburgh.

i am more optimistic about reid than most people on this site (including the rant)

he had a mediocre year this year, but he was great in coverage his first 2. raymond did not have our DBs playing well or smart this year

still...drafting any safety in the first round not named sean taylor is a reach

Exactly. He is filling Dashon Goldson's spot, which is designed to free roam in cover two and drop in the box.

I disagree. He was great in coverage in his sophomore year but took a step back because he was asked to carry too much load in the secondary. He has very adequate coverage skills for the NFL but I would not trust him being on an island against good receivers too often.

i think he was given too much responsibility and tried to do too much last year

our secondary was a mess last year. it's like TM7 gets kicked off and the coaches shipped their pants

Reid was hurt this season and took some bad angles trying to go for kill shots

See larons last year at LSU. Pretty much same thing

Jordan. Will obviously be a big hit as time goes on. Start of a trend?(2 great D players in a row in the 1st)

At times I felt like he wanted to fill the TM7 role for the defense. He was trying too hard to cause a fumble instead of a wrap and take-down.

People on here love them some Elam but I would rather Rambo from UGA among SEC free safeties.

Yeah, weird draft this year....not a very good one so teams are being forced to reach a bit. I like the pick over jones though because its our biggest need imo. Butler, galette, and wilson will be more than serviceable. Harper and jenkins, not so much

I think Rambo is projected to go in the 3rd round. I like Rambo in the 3rd more than I like Vaccaro in the 1st. Rambo is a more draftable name as well.

I think Elam will be a better pro than Rambo. I've watch him play a lot and every time I watched him I just though man this dude is gonna be a stud at the next level.

I think Rambo is good but I'm a huge Elam fan. And I hate Florida

I think we see the two in mirror images. But both will be good if they keep their heads on straight. Vaccaro would have people singing a far different tune if he had played for UF or UGA. That said, I wanted Jones with the pick.

I don't care about Eric Reid, he doesn't play for the Saints.
