Stills is gonna move back outside, which is what he played in college. Cooks in the slot

He only played in the slot 16% of the time last season, so he'll probably stay on the outside

Because he was our only true deep threat. That's part of the reason his production was low because he was the one usually carrying a corner and safety deep.

Cooks can go deep too, along with Morgan if he stays. I think more than ever these guys will be lining up all over giving people fits.

This is relevant:
quote:

"They were talking about me playing in the slot, outside and possibly returning kicks. That's my game, so I'm excited about that," said Cooks, who played in a pro-style offense under Mike Riley, a former Saints assistant coach who has a close relationship with Saints general manager Mickey Loomis.

I think they will place Still and Cooks in at slot this year depending on the situation, but I think Cooks (once he beefs up) is your typical slot receiver. I like Stills more at the outside, and I think he'll thrive there. Onto the slot discussion:

Lance Moore did not fight for the ball, generally avoided contact, and couldn't separate from corners. This kid is the complete opposite - he fights for the catch, fights for extra yardage, and possesses the ability to create separation with his "get up and go" speed. My only fear is if he doesn't learn to avoid some contact he will have an early injury. After seeing what happened to us in the passing game @ Seattle x2 last year, I'd much rather take his style of play because we'll need this type of player to win those 1-on-1's. He's one of the few receivers in the draft that has the speed to beat the press man cover schemes that Seattle was so successful with last year.

This was an excellent pick for the Saints, on paper. Now to see if they can get some muscle on him before the start of the year.

Yeah Cooks is a typical slot receiver, but we don't do things like you're typical team.

This was our slot breakdown:
Colston- 56%
Moore- 51.8%
Graham- 49.8%
Meachem- 22%
Stills- 16.5%
Watson- 16%
Toon- 8.6%
Hill- 4.8%

3 out of the top 4 aren't the body type most teams put in the slot.

You are going to see these guys moved all over the place.
