you're saying the GMs whiffed on Winston?

You think other teams don't want him for a backup role? They probably offered less, Jameis likes New Orleans, likes the team. He'll be the best backup in the league this year.

New Orleans offered him less as well.

I'd love for Jameis to assume a team manager's role. I think he'd do well for morale.

Hence the whiffing when I said he'll be the best backup in the league this year.

No, because you said no other teams wanted to sign him. Do you even know what you're arguing?

I'm referencing this post you had a problem with, dickcheese...

I never said that no other teams wanted to sign him.

...just that they didn't. Which is factual. And that the Saints gave him a pay cut....which is also factual.

Do you even know what you're arguing?

I do....but per usual, you do not.

The entire argument was about gms whiffing on not signing jameis. You tried to twist it into me agreeing with you through whatever bad logic you tried, then failed. You couldn't even agree that gms miss on qbs more than any other position because it gives merit to my argument.

again....validating my post.

I honestly don't give a shite if you agree with me. You just keep validating my post.

I never disagreed with that.

but once again....thank you for validating my post. I've certainly enjoyed how easy it is backing you into a corner.

You never said anything about it. You just glossed over it because you knew it would prove my point.

I'm glad your selective quoting makes you feel all smart though. Making you look foolish is once again is all too simple.

Is your ego so broken that it needs to be stroked this much? Welcome to internet sports message boards.....where not everyone responds to every single thing seen when it's being agreed with.

One correct statement doesn't erase every other shite argument you've made.

I don't think quoting 70-80% of your post can be classified as "selective quoting".

Just to summarize the thread for anyone joining.....

We could have saved an entire page of posting had he responded with "you know what....yes" instead of a page worth of him unintentionally validating the post.

I don't think you understand what it means to "melt".

Change that....I know you don't know what "melt" means.

This was a good melt. Not too long-winded. Short and to the point.

I'd argue that qb is easily the one position that gms whiff on more than any other. And if you're being sincere you'd know that's true. You watch the league.

You are correct in regards to rookie QBs. Neither are close to being rookies tho.

It remains a fact Winston was getting waived, his agent looked around and saw there was very little interest so he took a major pay cut to come back. Saints still needed a backup and it helped our cap out him returning. So it made sense.

Hence 31 gm’s did not think enough of Winston to make him a priority to be a number two.
Carolina went out and paid Dalton ten million for one year. I’d say that number made him a priority signing.

These are facts that can’t be debated. The free market spoke and Dalton got paid twice as much for work in 2023. Spin it how you want.

You have 0 proof of that. Jameis didn't want to be a prisoner of the waiver wire and took a pay cut to not move his family to a place he didn't want to be.

That makes just as much if not more sense than your argument that no other gm wanted him as a backup.

I appreciate the lie to make yourself look good. It was a two year deal for 11 mil with 8 guaranteed. But hey the panthers are great when it comes to qb evaluation. Oh wait.

I’m not the one claiming to be smarter than NFL GMs and then immediately crying about being called out on it.

Lol. Wtf are you talking about? Winston is not eligible for the waiver wire. He woukd have immediately been a free agent and could sign with anyone. You have zero proof he took a pay cut to not move. I’m sure if his agent could have got significantly more on the open market, he would have left.

He is what he is right now, and that is a number two. I’m fine with him in that role on the team btw. I would have preferred Dalton but as the backup I’d choose whoever was cheaper. So I have no problem with it.

And you are correct, I was going off memory and thought it was a one year deal but it’s a two year ten million dollar deal.
