The Saints were the only team that would make him a second rounder. Shough sucks

Yea well that makes you a dumbass. He was drafted in the 5th round. He's supposed to be a 3rd string
He's literally over performing what was expected of him.

Bone is usually a solid poster but like many he's entangled waist deep into the Great War.

Exactly. It seems there's two fears that's driving certain people to yearn for Shough to play early. One is just what you mentioned. They fear a former 5th round pick possibly playing QB for the team long term. They associate NFL QB success with being 1st or 2nd round pick. They have irrational expectations for 2nd year QB period no matter what round he was drafted in.QB is the most difficult position to play in the NFL & truth be told, it take 3-4 years to get a proper feel & true evaluation on a QB after they have been drafted. Being that the roster is currently so void of overall talent, neither will probably get that 3-4 year full evaluation process. Neither will be set up for success this season.
That leads me to my second point & those fan's next fear. They fear the pick used on Shough will be a waste. Well, they should have figured that out would be a high probability based on the current roster & Shough's lack of consistent productivity in college. This was project pick. Nothing more. Nothing less. What many of these people don't want to hear or don't realize is that Shough isn't going to look very competent with the lack of skill position players around him. It's going to be impossible to get any true evaluation on him because of this. Shough may never get the full 3-4 year window to get a true evaluation being that the organization is likely to be picking top 5 in the next draft. This train of though of having to play Shough NOW "to see what you have" is beyond silly because playing him NOW will not be pretty at all.
