Was the play by play announcer for 2 of the Saints' great moments in the early days.

The opening day kickoff TD by John Gilliam LINK

The sequence that led to Tom Dempsey's 63 yard FG against the Lions. LINK

A bonus Criqui moment...the original "Miracle at the Meadowlands" play, which led to the end of game kneel downs we see today. Criqui references Dempsey's FG at the end of the clip. LINK

A great voice from the past.

We were pissed at him at one time.
There was one game in Tulane Stadium - I think it was against the Eagles - where the refs made a terrible call and the fans were so upset that we were yelling and stomping on the steel stands so loudly, the other team couldn’t get a play off for about 15 minutes. Criqui was complaining about how unreasonable the fans were being. That got out and he was on our $@&t list for a while.

I was at the game. Good fun.

I cannot believe that Criqui is only four years older than Al Michaels.

It's crazy that the best saints endzone in history was our first game in 1967
