Who?

Name the player.

You don't get to play the field and retroactively make these decisions. Which flyer? Which round? Which free agent?

In real life, decisions are made without perfect information as a result of hindsight.

Thomas Jones is your guy?

If we go to the NFC championship I think it would be more on the shoulders of Drew, an improved defense, and better oline play, than Ingram "taking us there

Yeah............everybody gives credit to the qb but like Gruden said, when they saints won the superbowl they had BALANCE.

Ingram gives you balance, depth, and a potential 12-15 td RB.

I like ESPN just now talking about Bush's tweet saying "He didn't want to do a 1-2 tandem there", I think they meant a "1-2-3-4" tandem. We don't have OL depth right now unless we re-sign Bushrod and Strief, and if we do that we'll be limited money wise when it comes to Porter, Greer, Nicks, Moore, Colston, and Harper.

this makes no sense

assuming the saints had the ammo to trade up to any pick after our first, 1st rounder (which we showed we did), the saints DID have the luxury of picking "the field" compared to ingram

You are having trouble grasping the point.

You can't take the field. You have to make a decision now based on a projection of who you think will be available in the 2nd, 3rd, 4th rounds etc.

What you want to do is sit back and after seeing how it all plays out, making a determination of what the Saints should have done.

Someone is going to another team or getting cut!

My preferred draft

Cam Jordan

2nd on Austin, or Carter

3rd Ryan Williams or Murray?

Honestly how much worse is that than Jordan, Ingram and no 2nd this year or 1st next?

I like the pick. I think Ingram will be a thousand yard rusher and will bring balance back to the offense. If we keep both Thomas and Bush we'll have a ton of options and be able to keep the guys rested.

Ryan Williams in the 3rd........

And Demarco Murray.........great all the saints need is another injury waiting to happen.

no

if the saints had the ammo to move to that spot, they had the same ammo to use to get any pick after that

how do you not understand that?

If PT gets cut, from what I can tell it will either cost us $1.5m against the cap or straight up cost Benson $1.5m to have him never play a down. Or a full blown $4.2m either way. I can't tell if his $2.5m is a roster bonus or a guaranteed roster bonus (the latter of which we would be on the hook for, but I've never seen a guaranteed roster bonus in the first year of a deal).

If Bush gets cut, we don't have the same kind of pass catcher as he is. PT and Ingram are somewhat similar runners (Ingram is better), but PT can catch it.

Ivory will stay. He is cheap as frick and effective when healthy.

Right..............Reggie Bush had nothing to do with it.................GFYS dude. We had balance because we had the greatest decoy in the NFL that year who produced in the playoffs.........don't believe me..........look up reggies # of runs for 1st downs in the playoffs and his ypc.
