So how’s the secondary play out with Jenkins?

Jenkins can play the slot.

Do we keep Latt and Eli outside and PJ goes to the bench?

Seems that’s unlikely based on Jenkins desire to follow the other teams top wr.

Do we roll with Jenkins and Latt outside and CGJ in the slot? I like this option. Not sure if Apple can play in the slot.

Allen has a lot of options.

Ideally you want your best guys on the field and imo Jenkins, Latt, Bell, Williams and CGJ are your five best.

With our LB injuries do we go back to the three s look once Bell is back?

I assume he will spot play some for Apple at times and in the slot at times.

Realistically, our best secondary grouping could be Lattimore, CGJ and Jenkins. But I seriously doubt he will start over Apple or CGJ or even PJ if he doesn’t play lights out. I think he mostly plays in the slot at times and then some on special packages.

I’m really surprised we don’t play more DBs. A lot of teams did it against us last year like the Rams and Eagles to great success. A lot of times they would only have one LB on the field. I’m surprised we don’t do that more often considering the injuries to our LBs and our wealth of DBs. Davis is our only good coverage LB but he’s also really valuable as a blitzer. I’d much rather have CGJ or Jenkins in Klein’s place in coverage, or even if they’re just spying Wilson or Jimmy G or whoever. I’d almost rather CGJ blitzing instead of Klein too.

I think by the playoffs he's #2. He needs to grasp the playbook over the next few weeks heading into the playoffs. Then you mix in apple,pj, and cj

It is harder to take LBers off the field with the losses on the DL.

They had CGJ coming up a lot in run support last night.

Klein’s ability to line everyone up correctly overcomes his deficiencies in the passing game. We really missed him against SF.

I think this signing was more about next season than anything else. If apple leaves, you have a capable 2. If you can reach a deal with Apple, you have a piece you can move with 0 cap hit.

His cap number next year will be 10,125,000 with a 1M roster bonus. Extend him, and spread out that salary a bit, cut him, keep him at that number. Lots of flexibility.
