He's not going to throw his crew under the bus man. He has no authority to overturn the call now. What are you looking for him to do?

Vinovich had three outs during the game to do the right thing:

1. He could have called the PI and targeting penalty when it happened.
2. He could have immediately huddled with his crew and dropped the flag for PI.
3. He could have immediately huddled with his crew, called targeting and reviewed the play for confirmation.

He did nothing. He didn't even try to get the call right.

I think that should be the goal. Get the call right. Criticism about huddling and not calling the penalty immediately will fall flat if the right call is made after huddling and talking it over with the rest of his crew.
