Small positives from this season

Not much to be happy about but a few players I’m excited about regarding the future.

Offensively- Olave has been unbelievable, thought he’d do well spelling MT and Landry but has shown he can do it all alone. Juwan Johnson seems to have taken the next step, I honestly didn’t see that coming. Ruiz has probably grown more than anyone on the team. Kamara still looks fresh and young but teams are able to key in on him right now.

Defensively- Not much unfortunately. Werner didn’t have a sophomore slump, before injury he’s played very well. Ellis is my biggest wow factor, he was camp hero last year and got hurt. Werner and Ellis make me feel good about the future at LB. Seems Adebo has improved these last few weeks, feel confident he will be a long term good CB. Onymata, not sure what to think here, isn’t he in his final contract year? Will be a big decision to bring him back or not, shows flashes but can disappear.

Outside of needing maybe a new coach and QB I think our biggest issue is depth. Need a good young RB, need Penning to pan out and more Oline depth. I feel our D has suddenly gotten old, especially with our newer DEs just haven’t fully panned out. DD isn’t a young buck anymore, even with Werner and Ellis I feel we need another young LB to be ready once DD is done.
