Since Winston is a lot cheaper than Watson…

With no D Watson trade, and all of the cap moves, will the Saints be able to be active in Free Agency?
Sean/Mickey usually had any major holes filled in with free agents and was able to draft BPA.
Who is available at OT/WR/S?

In my opinion with the cap space we have, we currently have 3-5 holes I'd like to see filled.
WR: Sign a proven guy like Jarvis Landry...or Will Fuller, Sammy Watkins, Julio Jones, AJ Green. I'd also sign a guy in the TreQuan Smith (even though I think we should let him walk) realm that might benefit from a change of scenery like Tajae Sharpe, Dede Westbrook, Audin Tate, Dante Pettis. Even with Michael Thomas coming back we simply cannot trot out the same WR group and expect that much to change in 1 year, especially if Kamara is out for 4-6 games.
RB: With Kamara suspension looming, I'm not sure I trust Ingram to be the main focus for more than 2 games. I'd like to sign someone like Tarik Cohen or Fournette, or even take a shot on someone like Phillip Lindsey or David Johnson, especially if you don't necessarily intend to keep them for 17 game season just to hold serve until Kamara gets back
LB: Re-sign Kwon Alexander or someone like Kyzir White or Anthony Barr
TE: Are Trautman or Johnson ready to take that next big step? If the Saints think they are close to it then I'd like to sign Kyle Rudolph or Jimmy Graham ona 1-2yr deal to bridge the gap. If the brass thinks they won't take that next step then someone like Eric Ebron, Jesse James, Troy Fumagali, Tyler Kroft
LT: Re-sign Armstead if possible, or roll with Hurst and sign someone like Eric Fisher or Riley Reiff to compete for starting LT or to be the swing T
I'm really never a fan of going into the draft with a big question at a starting position. Asking rookies to come in and start at any position is big ask compared to how the college game is played, even though yes I know there are standout studs each season that do it. If you sign any of the guys above then you can use the old Best Player Available Strategy and go any direction we want, even say a QB falls to us, or adding another WR or OT or DT or LB, it really would leave us wide open

Nobody wants to play in New Orleans... at least not the “name” players.

They did when Drew and Sean were here. Who knows at this point.
They certainly don’t with the Pelicans.

We can definitely shop around, but if we don't get anyone we can just roll it over to help start digging out of next year's hole.
I'd prefer to give it a go this year, but at least the money won't be wasted either way.

Maybe if we can pay him peanuts, Dude has missed 27 games in a 5 year career

Proven to be injured?

Aside from last year, even injured and missing 4-5 games he still puts up numbers to compete for WR2 on this team.....
