Lacy took games over,

Bama's O-line did. Lacy wasn't even the best back on the team.

Jones, same thing. Made tons of impact plays and everyone said Jones without the neck injury would be top 5

There's more than just injury question marks around him. Will he be able to hold up against the run? Will his slow speed hurt him in the NFL?

Hayden to me is a great prospect Raider's Reggie Mckenzie obviously felt the same way.

He's a good prospect, but again there's lots of question marks and many people didn't have him as a top 3 CB.

Lacy broke tons of tackles and Line did its job but Lacy is a very good back and saying he wasn't even the best running back on his team is like saying Mark Ingram wasn't even the best running back on his team but yet the saints traded up for him.

Jones did have a slow 40 but Guys with slower 40 times include Terrell Suggs, James Laurinaitis, Paul Kruger and Dameco Ryans.

well saying that we signed a pass rusher and CB already this offseason, I think the team obviously thinks so. We also have 2 other players who were extremely effective at getting to the QB in their limited snaps (both should translate to the 3-4). He's versatile, which means he can fit a variety of the Saints needs and adds depth at corner if need be

We are not loaded with defensive talent. If we were we'd wouldn't be firing coaches and changing strategy.

But there is no doubt that we believe Vacarro is better than the fourth best CB or 4th best pass rusher. I just hope we qare correct, we can't afford to miss.

Having said that, I believe Vacarro is a safe bet to help us for many seasons. I'm thinking Jones, Floyd and some of the others discussed were more of a reach.

The Saints are in no position to gamble as say Minnesotta did with the Tenn WR. They already had two solid picks which allowed them to take a chance.

The Saints have no second pick and they have to hit with their first.

You are just full of knowledge. In all honesty, I think many people saw Richardson's potential when he was the back up greater than Mark Ingram's.

The real issue with jones isn't his 40 time imo, it's that even though he dominated in college, he doesn't really disengage well with his hands. I like the guy, but there are questions with him too.

Ingram wasn't the best back on his team.

You suck at this.

BTW: it seems like you and LSUFreek were looking at two different "game tapes" in the Kenny V vs T Austin thread.

Agree Fully that even as a backup Richardson was the better back, just saying the Saints still believed Ingram was good enough to trade up for. So why couldn't another NFL Franchise deem Lacy Worthy to have him high on their board.

"He was our top-rated safety," Harbaugh said. "This was Option A." (about Reid)

Harbaugh must be a ranter.

You're trying to prove that Lacy is a top 15 player by comparing him to Ingram?

lacy, ingram, and richardson were all guys who shouldn't have been drafted in the 1st round

If Lacey was the 15th best player in the draft, we didn't need him so we shouldn't have picked him.

What's your point?

Plenty of teams had KV as the top rated safety. Of course the coach who traded up to pick up Reid will call him the best safety in the draft.

why would he say he traded up for the 2nd best safety in the draft? You think Reid or any SF fan wants to hear that?

How the hell did a thread about Vaccaro turn into an Ingram/Richardson thread?

I was just justifying that Lacy had more talent than Vacarro. No we shouldn't have drafted him. Saying not once did Vacarro look like a top of the first round guy. Lacy look over faves an made a bigger impact.

I don't dislike the pick but thought there were better prospect. And that he isn't a huge upgrade over what we have. He took alot of bad angles just like Jenkins does.

Ok so did lacy play better competition?

Who stood out and made more plays for his team?

Who made the Heisman winner look like a high schooler?

I have my opinion. And after I saw a few games live and then watch a few more online i just don't see it. Vacarro is a good player just not a great one.
