Thanks for posting this. I have to say it was one of the best written articles on the Saints that I've read in a very long time.

I didn't realize that there was a connection between R.Ryan and Bryd, This guy did his homework.

It's not smart to commit to a running game that blatantly isn't working. Our oline was getting pushed around constantly at the beginning of the season.

The beginning of the season definitely. However, there were times where our RB's would pop off good runs then we would go 3 twenty+ yard pass attempts in a row, and we did that quite often. Sometimes I would feel Payton would give up just a tad too early, finishing up with less than 25 or so carries a game.

I didn't say it was. I was making the point that in no way did it appear that Payton committed to any sort of running game at all early in the season. I mean, he didn't even pretend like we had running backs on the roster for a while there

Our record was a lot better early in the season too. Do what works, especially early in the season - work on the things that don't work down the stretch.

With dominant one-on-one outside corners compressing everything, the Seahawks have extra bodies to use in a smaller area of space. As the Saints found out, that can be overwhelming.

Yea, this guy has no idea what he's talking about here

It was pretty obvious the running game was not working well early on. Once Payton pulled Brown and the rest of the line started healing things improved. Also they started going more with some zone blocking schemes, more cut blocking and our running game started to take off.
