-age 36 now
-had 8 sacks in 11 games last year
-$970K contract last year
Not a big fan of oldster signings but for the price he might be worth having in the rotation. Still productive

He helped win two games for them late in the year (game saving sack v's Vikings, playoffs vs Packers), so it's not like he burned out in December. Would be interesting.

Wow he's 36? Where the frick did time go.
I personally would like it at the right price. 970K sounds pretty good to me for someone who can both produce and be a veteran leader in the locker room. Sign me up.

i would not be opposed to it - he has a lot of upside for a vet minimum contract

Why not? we're thin at DE, and it would allow him to play his natural position vs. at OLB.

Yep! Was thinking this when made the Shaughnessy thread!

The Saints just drafted a pass rusher

I'd much rather save a roster spot for a UDFA who's earned it and to develop than him. This reminds me a lot of the Champ Bailey situation if he were to sign

What does that have to do with anything?

If we could carry just 2 quarterbacks, carrying a 3rd down rush specialist is doable.

Champ was not near as productive his last year in Denver.

want to know who you should cut to make room for him?
the extra RB, WR, and FB we never use

If he has the fever...the fever for sacking the QB?
Sure.

Sure.

Never realized he was that decent last year. That's good production for his age. We're thin at DE so if he's not expensive, I would support this.

We tried to sign him last year. He didn't want to play for us.

Absolutely, we need veteran leadership on this defense and we need it bad. Would love to have Freeney here.
