You would think after how badly he embarrassed himself the past 2 years supporting the irrationality when people like us were explaining to him how stupid he was, he'd have more modesty and introspection

The Carr comp has come up a few times and seems reasonable. He has a strong arm. He is very good in a clean pocket, but when pressured, particularly up the middle, he seems to panic and put a ball up for grabs. He is a bit erratic when forced from the pocket and has enough mobility to move around, but not a runner. He tends to trust his strong arm a bit too much and forces the ball into coverages when throwing away may make more sense. I can see the comparison.

Incorrect. Shough ran for over 100 yards on Ole Miss in a bowl game.

Arm talent wise, Carr comp is reasonable. Both have strong arms.

Carr is 6’2 215. So in most ways a Carr comp is not reasonable.

Flacco/mobile Nick Foles comps are reasonable.

Comparable prospects/pros in Trey Lance, D Jones, Flacco, Jordan Love, josh Allen are reasobable.

Worked out with Lance/Flacco/Allen not so much with Daniel Jones and Lance.

I guess we need a definition of "good"

He's a middle of the road QB, somewhere around 13-18 when healthy, I guess

Is that "good" or mediocre .

Good means better than average typically.

Great means considerably above average.

Just in general. So Carr would be good (when healthy). Burrow would be great.

Carr missed 7 games last year. He isnt the future the Saints arent retarded.

You keep bringing that up. He had 25 carries and was in a meaningless bowl game where many players were out. He can move around well, but not a running QB.

That's like saying because a quarterback can run fast, he should be compared to Lamar Jackson. Just because he is 6'5" does not mean Josh Allen is a reasonable comp.

Another 24 carries for 75 yards

The next Lamar Jackson

Not at all.

Shough ran for over 100 yards and 2 tds on Ole Miss in the Texas Bowl.

If you can run for over a hundred on any sec team its impressive let alone one with NFL players like Ole Piss.

Shough has talent as a runner at qb.

Im into facts not conjecture.

I have heard a few NFL guys quoted as saying Shough goes 1.1 if he is 22 or 23. He dropped to the second round because of age and injury history, not lack of talent.

2020: 271 (66/11)
2021: 14 (16/3)
2022: 269 (72/11)
2023: 149 (48/9)
2024: 19 (41/9)

2020:

271 in seven games. That would’ve been about 500 yards over the course of a season.

2022:

269 in four games. That would’ve been about 800 yards over the course of a full season.

This is rich, coming from the idiots who think that the Saints were married to Carr.

Clearly we arent and thats why qbs have been debated for months on this board.

Y’all were over there piss and moaning saying we are stuck with carr meanwhile, everyone was trying to tell you Karens that we weren’t and we’re looking for our quarterback.

I’ve pumped sunshine for any quarterback that it seemed like Kellen Moore was excited about. Dart etc.

In the end he looked at all of them and picked Shough, and I support it, what reasonable saints fan wouldnt?

Dont forget I reasonable and saints fan. Most of you folks clearly hate the Saints.

Hahahaha holy backpedal. Still can’t admit the Carr signing was horrendous even with hindsight. So we’re just going to pretend the last two years didn’t happen. When a face painter refuses to eat crow I’ll just force feed them instead
