Shark it! Fake Punt Mic’d Up

Really great insight into the fake punt and the look they wanted to run it with.
The best part is that Morstead and Westhoff are the ones calling for it after CSP said to punt, and then Sean was just like, “okay do it.”
Westhoff: “Shark it!!” Hahaha

I can’t link it, but the NFL posted the whole game of highlights for a MIC’d UP video (some of the same clips Turning Point used for this video, including “Shark it”).
Someone should post the link.

Wow they noticed Cox not moving much on punt safe against the Bears and took advantage of it. Ran right at him amd he was pushed back bc of his lack of effort. Excellent

Stood his arse up at the line.
That just shows how prepared NFL teams are, especially Sean Payton.

That video solidfies ertz as being one of my favorite players outside of the saints. Extremely hard worker, takes the blame for the first interception even though it was badly underthrown, then wishing Brees the best and hoping he gets a ring. Not to mention he's fun to watch and he did help me win this year.

Thought it was a 30 second clip. Then I found it was 8 minutes

It also helps to have the guy carrying the ball run like a bull in a China shop. With apologies to Ingram, I don't know if anyone on the Saints delivers a blow like Hill. Whether he gains 1 yard or 20, he's not going out of bounds without first punishing the poor bastard who comes up to hit him

Drew Brees: I think it's something that he knows the offense and the team feeds off of.
When you just get that in guys minds that hey, we're going to be aggressive we are going to play to win. It allows guys to relax and cut it loose.
Hey Coach Orgeron!
Are you taking notes?

Why “Shark it?”
Is that a Saints term or something widespread?

From the clip, it sounded like “Shark” was their code word for the fake to Taysom. So when Coach Westhoff walks up real fast and yells to Sean, “Shark! Let’s go!” And Sean says yes, then Westhoff yells again, Shark it! Shark it!
My take: They call it Shark because Taysom is like a Shark in water out for blood on the play. Rifling through the current to the first down.
Shark it!

I was ready to watch the rest of the game after those 8 minutes.
