Sean Payton is a top 5 coach in the NFL.

I can't think of 5 coaches I would prefer over Payton. If we let him go, it will be the biggest mistake in the history of the franchise. The guy is an awesome offensive mind.

I definitely would want to keep him as long as he can find a solid DC. The problem though is the drafting and free agency dealings of late have been horrid..

Do top 5 coaches get blown out weekly versus some of the most awful teams in the NFL?

3 years ago he was top 5 , the past few and now nope.

Also he has to get some blame for the personnel failures and the salary cap nightmare the Saints are in.

You have a Hall of Fame QB and the best you can do the last few years is 7 wins.

Guess John Harbaugh isn't a top 5 coach either right? When there is a lack of talent, even the best coaches need time to reaccumulate talent.

1. Bill Belichick
2. ???

Seriously, after Belichick, who would you pick over Payton? Mike McCarthy? Marvin Lewis? Gary Kubiak? Absolutely not.

Sean doesn't touch the defensive side of the ball, we know this. However year in and year out, when you look at top offenses, you're damn sure gonna see New Orleans in the top 3-5 every year. Most of us are LSU fans as well, so I know damn well how annoying an inept offense is on a weekly basis.

We have just got to find a defensive coordinator who can keep up and get some pressure. I'm of the mind that Loomis does have to go however, too many bad drafts and contracts. Really wish we'd have kept Pace around in that department.

Weekly?

Well that is false, but the last 1.5 have been disappointing

He's a top 5 offensive coordinator but not a head coach. A head coach that was a top 5 would not let their defense suck like this year after year.

Belichick
Reid
McCarthy
Tomlin
Harbaugh
Petey

I would take any of these over Payton

I'd even take Rivera or Ryan at this point.

So we can all agree that we infact do have a top 10 coach. If so, why are we retardedly calling for his head?

He has been a dogshit head coach since he got back from suspension.

He is an offensive coordinator masquerading as a head coach and his lack of head coach ability is catching up to him.

He needs help on the management side of coaching.

We are a top offense because Drew Brees. Payton's scheme used to be innovative but everyone has caught on and that's why for long stretches we struggle.

Despite being a top offense we have been struggling since 2012. Without Brees we'd be dreadful with the awful play calling, poorly designed runs, and horrid read progression (some of this is Brees and some is design).

Seriously we fell off a cliff after 2011. It just so happened it was one of the highest cliffs in the history of the league and we didn't hit bottom yet but we are still falling.

Belichick
McCarthy
Harbaugh (either)
Carroll
Tomlin

And perhaps Arians.

However, I still have no desire to fire him whatsoever. And I agree, he is one of the most brilliant offensive minds in football.

100%

Arians is outstanding. Would've been so cold blooded, but imagine if the Colts would've said see ya to Pagano and kept Arians.

That team was not within 2 TDs of 2011 squad.
