The insane draft capital that some are wanting here might even be semi-realistic if it netted Sean on a decent contract.
At this point I'd trade him for the last pick in the draft "Mr. Irrelevant" just to get his name out of the news 24/7. He is just pimping himself for attention. He is arrogant, he retired, wasn't be talked about constantly and by week one constantly talking about teams he would like to coach. frick him

We’re not getting #3. 2nd this year and 1st next
I agree. Can't see their GM parting ways with 3. First next year should be high. That team with Murray out at least until October is not that good. Also keep in mind that Hopkins could be traded as well. That could give them an extra few high picks in this or next year's draft.

Saints still have Jameis and Taysom under contract
If the Saints take the future 1st I would like to roll with where the money is already invested.
Give Jameis his last shot at being a starter and see where it goes. If he goes down roll with Taysom if the season still has some promise.
If not...sign Bortles, Gabbert, or any other scrub you can find to drive the tank for league minimum arming yourself with 2 1sts in 2024 to identify your QB of the future and officially fully commit to the rebuild.
As for the present no more messing with the cap pushing additional costs to future years unless the player has longterm value to the organization. Saints need to start creating exit strategies in order to create a light at the end of the tunnel for whoever might want to take on this project while also making it appealing to do so.

CSP for the #3 pick isn’t realistic, right? Because the Cardinals wouldn’t do that?
Would we? It kinda seems like we would, right?

We would trade him in a half second for the number 3 pick in the draft. Anyone who thinks otherwise is insane. That is a TREMENDOUS amount of value.
