What is this board's obsession with retreads?

Mostly casual fans that don’t know who, say, the Bears OC is

McDermott is a quality coach though. Just ran its course in buffalo.

Can we just go after one of McVey’s or Shannahan’s coordinators

McDermott was a somebody a long time ago, got sale, never adjusted, and rode Allen to playoff failures.

What does he provide to us? His defenses even suck now.

Depends on the retread.... depends on the situation.

Not sure if having a QB and coach both learning on the job is gona work.

Also, who are you replacing Moore with, a Brad Idzik type?

Not many good options out there other than maybe Klay Kubiak

I’m not advocating for McDermott. But idk about stale. He lost Daboll, tried Dorsey and pivoted pretty quickly to Brady.

It’s always the flavor of the day,we need ownership who thinks outside the box and does her own homework and doesn’t listen to the wrong people. We ain’t got that.

We need someone who can build a team. We have a long way to go.

McDermott did that in Buffalo, he just couldn’t get over the hump. He might be a good guy to bring in to help right the ship. I’d consider him, but I wouldn’t say that’s a homerun.

I need a coach that can take pressure off your franchise QB. It’s ALL on Shough right now.

You have to pick the right guy from SF or LAR.

They aren't proven to produce coaching talent, yet. It may just be a "he's the man" scenario with the HC. I won't trust Ben Johnson protoges until proven very wrong because he just seems like a prodigy. That's what makes McVay and Shanny so amazing. They are prodigies but also are prodigious at producing coaching talent.

They’re hit or miss. I don’t need Mike McDaniel or Raheem Morris just because.

Raheem Morris was a HC in the NFL when McVay was a WRs coach in the NFL. He doesn't count in their tree.

McDaniel did fine in Miami. They sold out for a 2-year run with Tua at QB and it imploded after. The Chargers just are coming off as dumb this year not learning his system.

Buffalo was a perpetual laughingstock prior to McDermott, after his arrival 8 straight playoff appearances and 5 division titles and if not for the appearance of a once-in-a-lifetime Patrick Mahomes, who knows. Tbf much can be credited to Josh Allen—guess it’s nice we have a poor man’s version

Well, coaching trees are fickle. Robert Saleh counts for Shanahan if he does well, Pete Carroll/Gue Bradley if not.
