From what I read, it is normal for the high to mid second round picks to hold out till the start of training camp.

Ever since they changed the rules years ago, rookie holdouts are fairly uncommon today, particularly the first rounders.
Regardless, glad we have everyone signed.

You’re wrong. 2nd rounders don’t sign until the others start falling in line. Do some research

Thought I would throw this on your thread from Saintswire.
So we can add a FA like Renfrow WR, Harmon S or Ngakoue DE etc. And/or extend a few contracts ending this year.

Smh, do I really have to do this? Okay, you really gonna compare the 2nd rounders “holding out” to fall in line to what was done in the past. There were times picks held out the entirety of training camp. Hell, I remember Deuce missing the first two weeks and signing his deal the week of the first preseason game. I also remember numerous coaches begging players not to hold out, but still doing it cause of the deals. Hilariously, this was archived by NFL.com when they covered the Saints war room trying to trade up for Jonathan Sullivan. Haslett begged him not to hold out, but what do you know, he did, missing I believe most of camp.
There was no rookie salary cap until the last CBA deal. What that means is there is a pot of money for rookies, you distribute that based on the round you are chosen. It’s not slot money, so variation does occur, and yes someone needs to start it. However, if you think me saying a 2nd round holdout isn’t a big deal compared to what rookie deals were pre-2010, then you need to do some research buddy.
