Saints Offense Upgrades

Last years offense was bad. It seems like we have made some significant upgrades.
Carr vs Dalton. Carr might not be a world beater, but he is a good bit better than Dalton
Williams and Miller vs Ingram and Johnson. Probably the most improved group on the roster
Moreau vs Trautman. Wow. That should be a major upgrade. Johnson a and Moreau are going to get a lot of targets as Carr like to throw to the TE.
WR is hard to judge. A mostly healthy Thomas is a big upgrade over Landry. Trequan has to be gone this year? Hopefully the Wake Forest kid makes an impact.
Penning vs Hurst. They seem to plan on Penning. Hopefully he is ready. That move does bolster overall depth as Hurst is a really good 6th OL and puts us in good shape for when Peat gets hurt. Also provides a viable replacement for Peat or Ruiz not playing well enough. Overall depth seems to be a strength this year.
Hopefully Carmichael can make this work.

I'm hoping that taysom's running will offset Carr's weakness (red zone passing) some

In the last two seasons the offensive line really hasn't ever had a chance to be intact.
The year before last I forgot how many different lineups we went with but it was some stupid arse number.

I love how we seem to have more options on the O-Line this year. Going into to training camp...we have 7 players that are locks to make the roster.
OC
McCoy
OG
Peat
Ruiz
Saldiveri
OT
Ramczyk
Hurst
Penning
After that, you probably have 2 more guys make it...
-Alex Philstrom at backup OC
-Throckmorton, Lewis Kidd, & Koda Martin at backup OG
-Storm Norton, Landon Young, Yasir Durant, Mark Evans, & Scott Lashley at backup OT
My guess is Throckmorton & Storm Norton/Landon Young. Philstrom has a chance, but he has to catch on really fast. In the end, I think Philstrom has a very good shot at making the PS.
