D. Hall is one of the best Corner backs in the league...

He had gotten hurt during the early season at raiders and he was in the process in learning the defensive schemes. Raiders didn't give him much of a chance to develop. That and they didn't want to give him $16 millions next year. He said their defensive schemes were whacked and he's glad they let him go.

I'm just hoping some one picks him up soon because in my fantasy league the guy that had him threw him away and I'm ready to pick him up as soon as a team picks him up. Dude leads in tackles for DB.

What you all are failing to realize is that Mike McKenzie is the shutdown corner on this defense. All DHall has to do (if he's signed, which the Saints are interested) is defend the #2 receivers, whom are Muhammed, Jenkins and Clayton/Hilliard in the NFC South. I think he can handle that.

I may be mistaken, but I think MM plays exclusively on the left side. So, who the other CB would be defending would matter where the WRs lined up. I saw way too much Brandon Marshall on Jason David in the Denver game.

You do realize that was his job in Oak?

Aso is one of the two best CBs in the league. Hall still got burned repeatedly.

many teams are pursuing Hall, or on specifics of offers, but said the former Virginia Tech star is intrigued by the possibility of signing with Washington. “Obviously, the Redskins are a strong franchise and a winning team, and that’s a significant criteria for DeAngelo,” Segal said. “We’re considering all the options and taking it one day at a time.” “It’s rare that one of the top players at his position in the game comes free now,” one of Hall’s agents, Joel Segal, said Thursday. “DeAngelo can be a missing ingredient for any playoff contender that needs a cornerback. “He’s excited about his potential opportunities and helping a team try to achieve its regular-season and post-season goals.” The Redskins declined to comment. Hall, 24, was released by Oakland on Wednesday, just months after the Raiders traded second-round and fifth-round draft picks to Atlanta for him, then signed him to a seven-year, $70 million contract. By clearing waivers, the contract was voided.

Desperation is a powerful tool, but as Bruce Springsteen once wrote, “I cannot tell from my fear and my desperation”. And teams better be fearful if they sign Hall. Any team that needs a corner and signs Hall is STILL going to need a corner. Just watch the tape. He looks good on the depth chart but bad on the field. He is a one of the top players at his position? Come on Joel Segal, even as much as you don’t watch football or know football, you don’t even believe that. You know that there was no market for him this offseason and that he is not going to reach the level of the contract that “Someone” was so out of touch to pay (that does not count as a Raider comment, that is a continuation of the Hall story). He does not solve one problem and the fact that he cannot and will not tackle limits what scheme he can play in. Hall is a poster child for the “he is a good player” phrase, but his tape never backs up his play. Everyone will claim he is a great athlete, but he does not cover anyone and he is the focal point of every opponent’s game plan. Can someone watch tape before they sign this guy…
