if it happens, and they win it, there will be a celebration of biblical proportions. The one thing that will be absent from other cities celebrations is the ritual burning down of some part of the city. There is the lack of buildings since Katrina, and even the dumbest of persons will not want to see what is there burnt to the ground.

I'm all about it. Mardi Gras, meh. Happens every year. The Saints having a LEGITMATE shot to go to and WIN a Super Bowl? frick Mardi Gras!

i've been saying, all along, that you are better off getting a ticket to the nfc championship game in n.o. than the superbowl.

I'd rather be in N.O. for both games anyway.

This actually happens, literally, city officials will have to block of the city and basically quarantine all the drunks to keep them from "filtering drunk" into all the burbs. Forget the Super Bowl, the Saints win a NFCCG AT HOME! Telln' yeah, it will be partying and fan craziness of biblical proportions.
We have all been patient. So many Saints fans are no longer with us to see this momentous season. PLEASE LET THIS HAPPEN FOR US!

The streets will be flooded with alcohol, urine, and puke.

That is true. I remember going to the Quarter one time on Lundi Gras. Actually, it was like 2 in the morning on Fat Tuesday, but I digress. I was with my girlfriends sister and we ended up talking with two tourists. We told them we were ACTUALLY from N.O. and they didn't believe us. We had to show them our drivers lic's to prove it to them. I appreciate them coming here and spending tons of cash other than that, they can GTFO!

This...I think if the championship game is in N.O. and the Saints win, the celebration that night in the Quarter will be better than the Super Bowl victory could be. Just getting there may cause the city to explode.

You know, that is so true. How many years of futility? Just like the Cardinals, whose to say it can't be us this year? God knows we've earned it! I do think that IF we get there, the NFCCG party would be off the chain. I do think, just like our team, we would still want the whole ball of wax. WE'RE IN IT TO WIN IT! NFC Title would be awesome, SUPER BOWL TITLE WOULD BE DIVINE!

Officials cancel Family Gras 2010, station reports
quote:
The Jefferson Convention and Visitors Bureau decided to cancel the three-day event -- held on Veterans Boulevard the weekend before Mardi Gras each of the last three years -- because "of a weak economy, fewer sponsorship dollars, the cancellation or rescheduling of parades, the success of our New Orleans Saints and the Super Bowl's expected draw from our event."
Organizers were having trouble booking artists for Family Gras because many were booked to perform Super Bowl events or didn't want to travel so they could watch the game, the station reported

The area where most people will be partying still has all of their buildings.
Seriously, the week long party that will take place after the Saints win the superbowl will be off the charts. No rioting/looting/burning, etc, but just some kick arse parties.
There is at least one mardi gras krew in Metry that cancelled their parade for that Sunday. Not even worth trying to compete with the superbowl.

There's going to be a lot of men running through the streets in high heels and all other kinds of stuff if they win the NFC Championship.
Bobby Hee-bert will be the first in line!
