Saints creating some Cap room.

Converted 8.25M of Ruiz, salary to signing bonus creating 6.2M of 2026 cap space.
Converted 5.15M of Godchaux's salary to signing bonus, add 1 voided year creating 4.12M if 2026 cap space.
Reported on X but Spotrac, Kat Terrell and Ross Jackson.
Wonder if they have someone in mind they are bringing in or if this is just routine maintenance.
iirc they were siting at or just below 3M in space before this. Should be around 14M now.

No reason to go from $3M to $14M in cap space unless they have a specific target in mind. The only other reason they would need to do this, is if they were planning to cut someone that would have escalated the cap hit, no one on the roster qualifies.

Apparently this is maintenance to make room for the injury settlements and such. current available cap is $5.3M
