All these upgrades are for the "VIP" and nothing for everyday fans with budgets those 1970 19 inch screens at concession stands and plaza endzone overhangs should be replaced with some 60 inch flatscreens in plaza endzones and 50 inch plasma at concession stands cup holders would be nice too but oops the seats are too close together

Here's what KC is doing to Arrowhead.
The new Arrowhead

Kauffman Stadium which is on the same grounds is also undergoing renovation. But Taxpayers wanted it to happen. Both are costing over $300 million apiece. They rejected the 2nd proposal for a rolling roof that would of covered both stadiums.

I doubt if New Orleans Tax Payers could handle paying for a new stadium in New Orleans even before Katrina.

In all, the Dome will eventually receive about $210 million in repairs and upgrades since Hurricane Katrina ravaged the building on Aug. 29, 2005.

from the lengthy post, not a new venue but not exactly chump change improvements.

I don't think we need a stadium but we def need some slip resistant steps before I kill myself trying to get to and from my seats.

This new era will be glorious. Does it start immediately this week that we will get free gas and everyone can go to college for free?

Are you kidding me? How many NFL stadiums have you been to? Do you think that the nosebleeds at Soldier Field and Raymond James and Qwest and Cleveland have cushioned seats and plasma TV's and gourmet foods? If so, you're delusional.

The Superdome is fine. The club level is awesome and as nice as basically any in the NFL. I've been to the club sections in Chicago, Seattle, Washington, Houston, and Tampa and the Dome's club level is every bit as nice.

As for the Terrace it's also just as nice. Tampa may have had cupholders but their seats didn't have cushions. Ditto for Dolphins Stadium.

if they can string together a few consistently strong seasons and make the playoffs a few times, they should consider a new stadium.

Someone linked to an article a few weeks ago where the author pointed out how all these new stadiums with the luxury boxes pushed down and the "real" fans pushed up had lost their home field advantage. It actually made sense and besides not being able to afford a new stadium, it sounds like it might actually hurt the team. Plus would more luxury amenities really do anything to expand the financial support of the team? Football is THE recreational activity in this area. Everything revolves around Saints and Tigers football October - December.

We just spent 180 million in renovations to the dome.

The fact that New Orleans is the murder capital of the nation, and people don't feel safe in the city is the real story.

You really have an axe to grind with NOLA, don't you? Basically every post you make on here has some negative stereotype about the city.
