Brees was a mentor to Wilson when Wilson first came into the league. They trained together a couple of offseasons and have remained friends.

This is beginning to sound like the worst kept secret in the football world right now. From Brees having his sons with him at every step this week, to his comments to the media & now Wilson giving up the start in the Pro Bowl to Brees.
If this is indeed the end, I can honestly say that I enjoyed every last second that Brees was a Saint. His presence alone made us constant contenders as well as giving us the feeling that the team was in any game during his tenure.

I don’t think it’s the end for him. Maybe just respect that this might be his last Pro Bowl selection that he can do all this with his kids. I mean Tom Brady just missed the Pro Bowl for the first time since 2008.

Sign Brees to a multi year deal. Trade him to the bengals and swap first round picks. Brees can then retire. Boom
