Sensabaugh is a solid player and won't cost $7m+ a year.

Uhhh, because he's a downgrade from Harper. Feel free to post some stats or just roll with that post. I'm good. Still think Harpers contract was fat, so remember, I'm not arguing that with you.

Glad to have him back. He's been to the Pro Bowl two years in a row and is damn good in the box. I was just as mad as the next guy at his performance vs. Seattle but its time to forget that crappy arse game.

Seriously.... would yall rather Josh Bullocks and his twin brother be our safety tandem? We have come a long way. I wish this deal were for about 4-8 million less though.

It's the least important position on defense, save maybe the SAM. You don't need a great player there, you just want to have someone that isn't terrible. Sensabaugh was solid in Jacksonville and pretty good last year.

I just saw in the other thread pick #27 got 7.46 mil/4yr. So, Harper got the other 4mil.

Well FYI that could be mistaken for a pretty sweet Simpsons reference.

Wow bad deal by FO. He's slightly above average at best.

It is a Simpsons reference. THRILLHO is all he could fit into the golf game.

Not sure what the argument is about but rookie contracts have very little to do with Harper getting paid what he did.

If anything I think the overpaying of Harper more reflects a desire to reward him for playing out the entire 4 years on a 2nd rounder salary with no public complaints, and the staff not happy with what was left on the market.

More than he should have got, but for a board that was out the butt happy we traded a 2nd and 1st rounder for a RB I'm surprised there is this much debate on the subject

I knew it had to be the Simpsons.. tried to ask in another thread, but it died before he saw it. I watch waaayyy too much Simpsons to not get that one.

That's not at all what I was saying.

Jesus, let that go already. It was nothing compared to the kings ransom that Atlanta gave up for a WR. Or how about the QB Minny took early?

We only gave up a second rounder. The first rounder we gave up is canceled out by the first rounder that we received. For some reason, lots of people negate the one we received. I am more happy with that deal than with ATL or MIN. Both of those are serious reaches. If Ingram pans out, it's totally worth it.

A) I was kind of on your side, saying that if people didn't think the Ingram trade was paying to much then they shouldn't have a problem with this either.

B) Other teams's drafts do not really effect the value of the Saints. I mean I wish I could point at the kid in the Mask to convince Jennifer Aniston to sleep with me cause I'm not as ugly as him but that still doesn't put me on her level.

Well by that logic I'm sure if Christian Ponder pans out the Vikings will be happy with that too.

Perhaps, but Ingram was picked after he was expected to go... Ponder was picked way before. Running backs tend to develop faster than quarterbacks, and we had a ton of injuries at RB last year that are still affecting us (see PT at 85% and Ivory not practicing) so it seems like a very crafty move to me.

edit: You are right though. I guarantee the Vikings fans will be happy if Ponder pans out. I should have chosen my language more carefully.
