His life was derailed? Being drafted into the nfl and being a starter is having your life derailed?

Dude was an embarrassment to LSU and all the players who do the right thing while playing for their school. Sorry, I'm not idolizing someone like him.

I don't wish him ill will, but I'm not supporting him ever.

you are obviously incapable of comprehending the fact that people have a problem with him because he got thrown off the team because he couldn't obey the rules, whether you agree with them or not...and i don't give a shite about lsu, so don't try to pull that bias out of your arse.

This is insanity. I am no cleat chaser. I don't go to games, own one LSU shirt, and have no other memorabilia. I simply feel bad for a regular kid with amazing work ethic and potential having his life derailed because of the bias perpetuated by idiots like yourself.

Look, dude.
The rules at LSU may not be fair or just.
I think weed should be legalized.

But the fact is, rules are rules.
Matthieu was told repeatedly to stop smoking weed (because it's a rule).
He was tested multiple times and failed.
Whether or not weed should be legalized has NOTHING to do with the rules as they are now.
If Tyrann cared about LSU as much as he said he did, he would have stopped.

Whether or not weed should be legalized is a separate and secondary debate.

Fair point. However, due to the obvious incongruity of punishment between smoking weed and participating in much more socially dangerous behavior such as drinking and fighting, I cannot fault him. I fault society and University administration for continuing to enforce harsh rules aimed at a drug that has been proven to be relatively safe for recreational use.

I'm glad that he is succeeding. Legalize.

Well, I see what you're saying.

But let's consider that the fighting players you mentioned all committed their crimes a single time, I believe.

On the other hand, Matthieu failed a drug test on multiple occasions.
If he had only failed a single drug test, he might not have gotten in trouble at all.

You obviously don't understand the deeper issues that led to our current debate. I can see that you are having a hard time comprehending the bigger issue, so I'll speak in a language you understand...

Baaaaaah. Baaaah! Baaaah...

Following rules simply because they are rules is for sheep. You are why we can't have nice things. You are dumb. You are a minion. You suck at life.

your bullshite has nothing to do with this thread, and your persistence in trying to pretend that you know how i feel about the "bigger issue" is embarassingly stupid.

Why are you so against Tyrann? He is a local, homegrown NOLA product and one of the most exciting young talents in the league.

*facepalm. People like you make me lose faith in humanity. You don't even make any sense, and you have not raised one valid point regarding the "bigger issue", which is the completely unjustified criminalization of marijuana use. The issue is way bigger than Tyrann. Hundreds of thousands of normal people (college kids, productive citizens, etc) go to jail every year for smoking pot, while idiots like yourself are free to walk the street being idiots. It makes me feel like I'm taking crazy pills. Having a rule that dictates that a student be kicked out of an athletic program for smoking pot makes about as much sense as a rule against eating french fries. He was obviously doing just fine until a bunch of self-righteous morons got involved.
