one big return game is skewing your view of Bush. Also, bush being a stud in a PPR fantasy does not mean he is a stud in real life. He still is only getting about 3.5 yards per rush and about 7 yards per catch for his career. Even with the million short passes he gets, he has still never finished in the top 5 in yards from scrimmage. that's not impressive.

Didn't he fail to make a single play over 25 yards all of last season? Before last night his career punt returns were terrible.

Now, will he continue to be a special teams beast on punt returns? who knows. But, unless he does his numbers to this point are a disappointment, and will likely continue to be so.

Not a total bust, but a disappointment. He doesn't suck, he's just not a great NFL player. He's pretty good. But with his hype and draft slot, he should be dominant.

hester is the main PR. he calls fair catch all the time. i wonder what the stat is for % of non-fair-caught balls is

But fair caught balls don't count as punt returns, it's a separate stat, right?

Defined by what? Total contract, total guaranteed money, cap hit, guaranteed money per year, salary per yr, total contract $$ per year?

He was drafted as neither, the Saints drafted him knowing exactly what they were gonna use him for. If you think the Saints drafted Reggie to get 30 carries a game you are delusional. Who the frick expected him to do that?

also minny was frickING RETARDED to punt to him FIVE times and out-kick the coverage EVERY time

their special teams sucked. what did the saints average in kickoff return last night? bout 40?

i think all of the above

def guaranteed $ ($26M and i think he got more in the offseason). total salary/ years may not be #1

his total contract is the #1 i believe

His cap hit is $5.1M this year, is that really the highest?

true. But, on is second return he did have to break a tackle and he made the right cuts for a change. this might be the start of something, or he might revert to trying to run around coverage every time.

It's definitely the latter with SFP. Cant' admit when he's wrong.

This is so fricking disingenuous that it almost defies belief.

To call a punt return for a touchdown "good"?

No. Reggie had 2 amazing returns that set the Dome on fire each time. He had another great punt return that was a step away from going the distance, and he had 2 poor returns - one of them he used to set up his later TD return. He used the opposite fake next time out and it worked. Almost like a boxer feigning a jab and then using it in a later round to open a gashing combo.

what about the topic of this thread Alejandro? has Bush lived up to his hype? is he a bust? a disappointment? exceeded expectations?

ok i'll call fielding the punt inside the 5 unforgiveable and the one where he almost lost 10 yards horrible

make you feel better?

dude

reggie tries to bust a big play every play

he doesn't "set up" shite. he goes on instinct and immediate reaction on every run, reception, or return

did you see how we failed to pick up Winfield on the blitz where he destroyed Brees? that was on purpose. We were setting up the Vikings defense to throw a screen pass to Bush 37 plays later.

I just looked. Bush reminds me of a Dave Meggett. Meggett actually averaged more yards per touch than Bush on rushes, receptions, kick returns, and until last night punt returns.
