Yeah - they had an opportunity to rule that a fumble. But they might not have out of self preservation.
They blew it dead. Calling it a fumble is is acknowledging they took 7 points off the board.

Probably a bit of both. The Who Dat Nation still seems to lead the charge among fanbases of criticizing officiating (rightfully so) and burning Goodell to the ground (frick him).
