I think as long as they don't try to get cute with any of the 1st round pick we should be in good shape

3 picks in the teams 51 year history. Chalk up another L for good ole' Larry.

So you're saying we're due for a good pick?

Geez, Holder is reaching for stuff to write.

Had #11 pick 3 times in 50+ years. Drafted weak. You could say that about most of Saints 1st round picks in 50+ seasons.

The reason the Saints should trade down is much more compelling. The Saints own a prime spot right before 2 QB wanting teams (Browns,Cards). The Saints have many areas of need, especially EDGE and CB, both of which are very deep in this draft. Moving back in the 1st round to pick up an extra 2nd and 3rd would be more beneficial than using #11.

They're historically bad with the 11th overall pick

You could at least link the POS article NOLA.com put on their reality news site that masquerades as a legit news source.

Holder is such a freaking joke. Between he and Duncan, it amazes me that anyone reads the T-P.

You have to find someone to trade with first. What value does the 11th pick hold?

I say move down a few spots. Saints can still find a great CB.

I think it's a great spot as I've stated a few times.

#12 Browns and #13 Cards could be looking for a QB. #23 Giants, #25 Texans and #27 Chiefs are also eyeing QB position.

The only team prior to Saints at #11 likely eyeing QB are the Jets at #6.

If the Jets pick Trubisky #6, then whatever team likes Watson, Mahomes, Kizer may look to jump ahead of Browns to get their guy.

If Jets pass on Trubisky and he lasts to #11, I think the Saints will be bombarded with calls by teams wanting to move ahead of the Browns.

I doubt they can get a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd for the 11th pick.. these QBs aren't that great

Most teams have a value chart. The standard chart for a trade with #23, #25 or #27 would be for 1st, 2nd and 3rd - and still be a little short.

The quality of QB is irrelevant and any of the QBs could turn into a HoFer. Heck, The Rams traded (2) 1st rounders, (2) 2nd rounders and (2) 3rd rounders for Jared fricking Goff.

There's enough upside with these QBs and enough needs by the teams that the value will be high. this is a good QB class

I'm always a big proponent of trading down. However, people act as if it is a mere formality to just make that decision. Finding a trade down partner is a lot harder than it sounds.

I stand corrected then.. my bad

I guess what I was trying to say that if i were an NFL GM (which I'm not), I wouldn't give up all those picks for the quarterbacks that are draft eligible.. none of them are surefire stars IMO - except MAYBE Watson or Trubisky, but I'm just not seeing it

could be wrong though, wouldn't argue about it either way
