Like his moxie. Accurate and can scramble when needed. Has the "it", reminds me of Herbert at Oregon (not size/skill, more poise and IQ). Probably need 1-2 years to develop behind a vet. He could keep rising, but as of now looks to be outside of round 1.

I’ll add Cam Ward to the convo

He’s still learning the position as he essentially never threw the ball in High School (played for a true triple option team). But he’s got a howitzer for an arm and elite level leadership traits. The story for him is just getting more reps since he’s still relatively new to the position.

If he stays in college another year, he’ll be a prime candidate for a breakout season and first round pick in 2024. But if he decides to come out early he’ll be a second/third round pick who will have to sit and learn for one year. If that happens, we need to jump on him in the second. Rare chance to get a true first round talent at QB outside the first. Let Jamies finish out his contract and then it’s the Cam Ward show starting 2024

I'd rather be horrible for two years for 15 years of a superstar qb then try to stay 9-8 and get a 22 year old Andy Dalton

I've been on him for a minute. Guy is a player perfect for a modern day spread-style scheme. Good accuracy to all levels of the field, ball placement is A-1. Heady, poised. A LOT of things to like.

Young and Stroud are getting the hype but I like Rising significantly more if he lands in the right spot. I like him much more as a prospect than guys like Kenny Pickett and Zach Wilson.

I’m of the opinion Ward will be a superstar… that was the point

Ward’s athletic profile tracks more similarly to Patrick Mahomes than to Andy Dalton

That’s what is ironic about all the posters on this board.

Jamies Winston - National Champion, Heisman winner, 1st overall pick = Superstar QB. Saints fans HATE him!!!

Drew Brees - 1st pick of the 2nd round.
A-A-Ron Rogers- 24th pick.
Patrick Mahomes - Kansas City went 12-4, won their division and drafted him 10th.
Lamar Jackson - last pick of the first round.
Jalen Hurts - went 53rd.

QB is a crapshoot.

Dak Prescott, Derek Carr, Russell Wilson, Jimmy G., & Tom Brady are starting QBs who were chosen in later rounds.

Manning and Elway were first overall picks, but so was Jamarcus Russell.
Brees and Favre were second round picks. Kurt Warner, Jeff Garcia and Warren Moon were undrafted.

Nobody knows who is or isn't going to be a good QB or not.

there are several qbs we can get outside of round 1 this year. i like rising, ward, mckee, hartman and leary. we'll have winston or dalton next year, not both. winston is a pretty cheap cut after june 1st and i wonder what dalton would re-up for.
