ETA: it tailed away late... had the distance

And Kikaha. He's gotten after QBs all preseason too, and a lot of that against starters.

they keep getting after it.

they've been way more aggressive than previous defenses of ours.

Thank God

So my biggest concerns heading out of preseason is health of a few players (though some played tonight so they should be good to go; mostly worried about Willaims now but safety may be our deepest position) and how the offense starts out.

I have no doubt we'll be a top 5 offense, but I hope we don't come out struggling in our early games like the last 2-3 years.

its only preseason, but Minn has looked terrible. Lets get this W out the gate and roll.

Yarp. I was thrilled with Lattimore, but I wished that we could have found a way to move up for Barnett (who has been tearing shite up himself in the preseason). I know it's foolish to think this after a preseason, but I'm starting to think that we may not even be desperate for a RDE early in next year's draft.

The one thing about the offense I can say that gives me hope is we haven't seen Brees and Kamara at the same time yet. So even if we aren't in sync to start in the vertical and medium passing game, hopefully we can overcome that with the run and dumps to Kamara, along with screens to all 3 backs.

You mean take Lattimore AND move up for Barnett? I believe it was said they considered it but being the draft was deep in the top 3 rounds they didn't want to lose picks.

I fully agree with the decision, and I was probably the one banging the table the most for Barnett. His floor was very solid, with his ceiling being potential all pro.

On the road against a good defense + banged up OL feels like a 20-23 point game.

I think that we can hold the Vikings to ~17, though. Their OL sucked last season. Diggs is a pretty good player, but their offense is not even remotely intimidating.

I never heard about their being interested in moving up for Barnett, but yeah, they made the right decision. Especially in hindsight with Armstead's injury. I don't trust Ramcyzk yet, though. I think he'll need help with Griffin week 1 (so I expect to see a lot of Ingram.)

Yeah I'm not so worried about Minny even if the offense struggles, but we NEED to be on our game against the Pats.

Panthers game who knows. Division games always seem to go wonky and not how you'd think.

you may be right. I guess we cut tapp since we keep hendrickson, muhammed and of course okafor to go with kikaha and cam. That gives us 5 DE's as is.

we have beaten them at home before and we had them beat on the road. we can take them IF we are hitting on both sides of the ball.

It wasn't specifically said about Barnett, but just moving up in general in the first to take a pass rushers, even in that mid to late 20s range. Payton said it wasn't worth it with how deep rounds 2 and 3 were.

And it looks like that analysis was spot on. We got us some players in this draft.

I will be following Barnett's career, but not because we didn't take him. Just curious to see if what I saw of him was right or not.

And I think Loewen makes it, making it 6 "DE"s. But three of those 6 can play DT, and I think it's worth keeping that group + only Davison/Rankins/Onyematta at DT.
