I feel $3m is the breaking point. Over and we let him walk for sure, under and we might match(depending on how much under).

I liked him as a player, but I think a lot of people kinda over hyped him after he made that huge hit on Percy Harvin in the playoffs.

I love him for that.

I like him because it allows Vaccaro to play around the line while still having two safeties on the back end (if we were opting for coverage in that instance).

If we lose him, we're going to be breaking in Ball or a rookie safety in those sets. Of course we'll be playing a lot of single high too.

Just an update on something I touched on earlier. He actually only missed 1 tackle all year.

Really wanting to see the offer.

Just getting to the computer and get hit with this crap. It pisses me off to no end to lose a player (one that can actually play) to the damn Falcons. I pray that God doesn't cast a plague upon his family for this unholy pack with the devil.

Real question: do you think the FO got wind of this and that's why they signed Marcus Ball?

I honestly don't think they're related. I know they happened within days of each of other, but they've have had to be scouting Ball for a while, and his cap hit will probably be super low.

Yes. The timing seems way too coincidental. He likely got the offer yesterday and told the Saints he was signing it.

It wasn't days Pat. Ball was yesterday, and that broke at a later time than this news today. That's less than 24 hours between this.

I do agree that they were likely looking at Ball and may have signed him anyway, but I think it was expedited because of Bush.

That I agree, but they were probably gonna sign him anyway.

Does Bush's tender already counting towards the cap? If so, and we don't match, it could allow us to fit a one year deal with Bailey without having to do anything, and he could fill in that part time safety role.

I just really don't like the idea of Atlanta having one less hole to fill. Bush isn't a play maker, but he's plug and play, and much better than what they had.

Yea the tender was counting(just like Graham's is). They do that because they treat it like a regular contract that has to be approved to make sure it fits under the cap as it can be signed at any time and put into effect.

And yeah while I would love to keep Bush and am upset about this, he would play a much larger role for the Falcons and that is not something I want to see.

he was the best tackler in our back 7-8 last year. Would suck to lose him imo

Can't keep all of the good players; he was going to be buried in the depth chart this year and probably would have been on the bench. Glad to see he's getting an opportunity somewhere else; I just wish it wasn't the Failcounts.

Disagree. He got over 50% of the snaps last season. Yes mostly due to injuries, but Harper, Jenkins, and Greer are gone and only Byrd was brought in.

He was definitely our 3rd safety and it was likely he would split time with White/PRob. At this point he definitely seems a better player than White, and it's hard to say where PRob stands.

I can't really be mad at him wanting an opportunity to start somewhere.

I meant I disagree about him being on the bench here. He would have seen a good bit of time.

He definitely deserves a shot to start though.

no one will prob agree because of the hype, but he was better than Vaccaro last year.
