I agree with everything you said. I have been to Shreveport on a number of occasions and like I said earlier there are far more LSU/Saints fans there than Cowboys/UT fans. Shreveport does have everything pretty much all cities/towns down here have, with the exception of New Orleans, and with the film industry and the haynesville shale discovery things are looking bright. Oh and Shreveport was a very gracious host for us hurricane evacuees.

I've been there enough times, felt the vibes, I say that qualifies me, even went to school at ULM for a lil while, besides your probably a insider trying to give a outsiders perspective.

Since you like Shreveport so much , you are welcome to move there anytime you wish.....it would be a refreshing change to see a former Californian actually leave Austin

I can't believe this thread made it to 6 pages.

How many more "My dad could beat up your dad arguments" can we have?

Never have and never will live in Shreveport. That being said, I have a lot of friends from Shreveport/Bossier. Baton Rouge-LSU isn't even as good as Shreveport/Bossier.

Although I really like Austin, I wouldn't mind living in Shreveport again. I grew up there, but unlike you, I wasn't a bully who everyone disliked.

You live in Central Austin? I wouldn't have guessed that. I haven't met many turds since moving here a few years ago. BTW, your wrong about trading up for a mansion in Shreveport. Perhaps you see property values as high in Austin, but S'Port is fairly pricy for the population.

I cant believe that im wasting my first ever post on this thread... but oh well.... I am a LONG TIME reader of this saints forum, and i can honestly say that there has never been another thread that has absolutely forced me to get an account to td and make a post.... First things first.... i have been a die hard SAINTS SUPERFAN alll my life... through the many many downs and the few ups... But like everyone else i suffer from the blind/ EXTREME optimism every single year that the saints are a superbowl contender...I also have an absolute ton of friends that are die hard saints fans... just like me.. born and raised in the shreveport bossier area.. two of them actually have the fluer tatted on their forearms for all to see. And to set the record strait.. the tables are turnin up here and there are alot more saints lovers and cowboy haters than yall south louisianians give north la credit for... I hate the freakin cowgirls.. thats all i ahve to say about "them"...
On another note i love south la... the food...the culture... and the people.. I have played college baseball for three years now and met a lot of boys from south la.. i played on a travel team for two summers that were made up of 90 percent BR and NO Boys. my point being me second home is south LA. Any how i think it is immature and unfair for south la people on here to shoot their mouths off about ALL THE people from shreveport having an east texas attitude an loving the cowgirls.. especially when those making those comments have admitted to not being in s'port in a log time... In regards to the economic state of s'port bossier, it is booming, and if someone cant see that...whatever... but in closing.. SAINTS ROCK!!! cowgirls suck
look forward to postin more

I have only read 2 pages of this post but enough to realize it is retarded. Shreveport-Bossier is full of LSU/Saints fans. We suffered just like you did every year. Cowboy fans are everywhere. Im sure BR and NO are full of them too, just like every other city in the country. Every other truck up here has a LSU license plate or a saints sticker. SO :doublebird:

The anwser is NO!

Nola and BR are full of Saints fans.

This post is dumb!

As soon as the Saints start wining consistently, and they win at least one Superbowl; Shreveport will have more Saints fans than Cowgirl fans.

Nothing converts fans like a winning team...

my bill for PROPERTY tax is 11 K annually and my house is older and not that large(3 BR)...the lots' worth(or COA values it) is quite high though thanks to Californian types like yourself moving here to bid up property values....so in a way I guess I should be grateful. If you had a nice time in Shreveport , move back. No one should have to tolerate religious or racial bigotry when they are a child....which was the case when we moved to S'port from NY in the 70's. That is the unfortunate reality , and in my book you don't get a second chance for that shite! frick that place , and all its Dallas Cowboy loving residents....BTW Though I did have friends , sometimes it's better to be respected than liked

Base your opinion on one city on what a few people did to you over 30 years ago. Way to act your age grow up and get over it.

I think you are overexaggerating how much you paid in taxes last year. I paid only $6192 for a 5 bedroom, 2800 square foot home. I don't believe that your 3 bedroom would be taxed nearly twice what I am taxed. But hell, there are holes in each one of your posts, so this exaggeration is nothing new.

"If you had a nice time in Shreveport , move back."

Why do you keep trying to get me to move back? My job is here and my family likes it here. Why don't you move back to New York?

"No one should have to tolerate religious or racial bigotry when they are a child....which was the case when we moved to S'port from NY in the 70's. That is the unfortunate reality , and in my book you don't get a second chance for that shite!"

Sorry that you had a rough upbringing. I was offered two scholarships to private schools in Shreveport to play basketball through high school. My mother actually turned them down because she wanted me to go to school with kids from different backgrounds. But let's be honest, coming from NY in the 70's to the South, of course there was going to be racism back then. But you would have hated just about any southern city at that time.

"frick that place , and all its Dallas Cowboy loving residents...."

Your experience was 30 years ago. Move the frick on.

"BTW Though I did have friends , sometimes it's better to be respected than liked."

I agree. Too bad you are neither on this board.
