Rating seems high to everyone it seems.
Kid has all year to improve and compete next year for LT. I don't have much doubt he will get there. Dude is going to get coached up.
As to this year I hope he can get some mop up playing time in a game or two.
Lots of guard talk but every thing that I have heard from camp says all reps at tackle. Anyone heard of a single rep at guard cause I haven't.

Yeah armstead got absolutely demolished in 2013 against the panthers in his first extended playtime when Bushrod (I think) went down.

How in the hell do those grades on basically the same amount of plays each, average to a 90+ overall grade? PFF once again showing how much of a joke their "grading" is. Makes zero sense.

Synopsis from their site

The overall grade is grading the totality of the work. They are grading each play intricately

Played 57 snaps

He got beat bad on 7 pass rush snaps out of 28

Dominated nearly every run snap

So if he did the job ~50 of his 57 snaps, he grades out well

And I put about half of those at Ian Book's feet.

He's God-awful and retreats directly into the pass rush lanes.

book has zero redeeming qualities, unfortunately

Back to Penning for a sec. He got most of his reps vs Ogbo Okoronkwo and Derek Rivers. Both been in the league a few years as rotational DEs, both got snaps in the past on SB winning teams in LAR and NE, respectively. They have sacks in the league. Not like these are rookie UDFA going at him. We have to remember Penning was playing Youngstown St last year. I think Streif and J Evans can get some good out of the bad tape. Stay tuned
