Not really a surprise when you realize that an LA win boosts that huge LA media market for the NFL.

LA just invested in a HUGE stadium that will be completed by next season. They threw the NFL a bone and some consideration for that should be expected.

Short term success vs long term success deal here. A Saints super bowl would have been good for the NFL this year. But a LA team in the Super bowl is better for the league in the long run.

NFL is so transparent. Dying to get L.A. teams for two decades and suddenly one is in the Super Bowl.
