quote:dude frick you. He lost his HC, Off. coord, mentor, and friend on the sidelines. No other QB ever had to deal with that. Fact. And he is performing very well. He can't help the plays given him, the oline play, dropped balls, lack of a running game, etc...
if he truly is the superstar as we perceive him to be shouldn't he have done more this season. Yeah the defense sucks but Brady and Rodgers both were able to overcome their terrible defenses last season. Rodgers also dealt with numerous o line injuries in his Super Bowl run.
Specifically, what more do you want him to do?

But would you rather not have Drew Brees?
I worry that if things keep going the way they seem to be heading we will not have drew brees -
and then what..

he has almost as many interceptions as TD's so far this year so this may be a bit of a stretch

Okay maybe he's not. But he isn't playing horribly, and a lot of his problems this year aren't his fault.they are a mix of Kromer, little Petey, and the oline, specifically Strief. We handed the keys to Payton's Ferrari to his half retarded parapalygic friends, and now we get to watch them drive it.

Hey, no one forced him to throw the ball directly to the Panthers last weekend. He has been trying to do too much. But the QB starts to look bad when his offensive line lets him down, I 100% agree with you here.

no... opponents defenses manhandling our offensive line and having their way

I agree, and he did it again this week. Whenever drew got to amped up or too down on him self, Payton always went and talked to him and went over plays with him, and calmed him down. I haven't seen PCJr. Open his mouth to drew yet. Sideline presence and leadership. The lack there of this season is polluting every player and aspect of our team.

you dont understand basic economics or timing if you ask this question.

When Sports Illustrated selected him for the 2010 Sportsman of the Year award, it said the award was "[f]or not only leading the New Orleans Saints to the first Super Bowl title in the franchise's history, but also for helping lead the city of New Orleans' rebirth after the tragedy of Hurricane Katrina".
Drew and Brittany’s Brees Dream Foundation announced a partnership[57][58] in 2007 with international children’s charity Operation Kids, to rebuild and restore and recreate academic and athletic facilities, parks and playgrounds, after-school programs, mentoring programs for the intellectually disabled, neighborhood revitalization projects and child care facilities in New Orleans.

Allow me to answer you on behalf of the OP:
Yeah I get all that, and I'm not saying he shouldn't be paid. I. Just asking why and how his contract came together
