Bum wouldn’t recognize football today.

And Bum was the best coach the Saints had had up to that point.

He was the best GM we had up to that point too.
He basically built the successful teams Mora and Finks inherited:
Rickey Jackson, Morten Andersen, Bobby Hebert, Jim Wilks, Frank Warren, Hoby Brenner, Eric Martin, etc.
Lots of Saints legends brought in by Bum the GM.

What did Bum get when he traded the first pick in the 1983 Draft? You know, the one that produced a shite ton of Hall of Famers

The GOAT Snake Stabler
also wasnt Alvin Toles in there or was that later?

So Green Bay had the pick. Unless there was another trade between Green Bay and the Raiders, if Bum wasted the 1983 draft pick on Ken Stabler, then why don’t we talk about that being a very dumb trade.
EDIT- Per Wiki, Stabler signed as a free agent in 1982 after Bum was hired. That also led to Archie being traded. So, no, Bum ain’t that stupid.
But the question remains, what did we get for trading the 1983 first round pick?
