Not having a first round draft pick next year really sucks...but Olave is going to be really good for a long time. Worth it in the long run?

To get the best receiver in the draft I’d say yes. You had no idea what that pick would be when you made the trade.

it wasnt out of line to go get him like that, its just our unique situation should have dictated a WR need when you have no QB is not something you mortgage the house to go get.

no reasonable person can say he wasnt worth it, but its not wrong to say it was a luxury item we couldnt afford to give up what we did to get him.

in hindsight winston sucks, as most honest fans knew, but had winston become someone other then who he always has been, a #1 WR would have been looked at as a genius move.

time and circumstance shades how such moves are viewed in hindsight

I think what bugs me is that they included Philly in the trade. I don’t understand why they didn’t just make an offer to a team around 11 and save a pick or two.

You burned 18, 101, 237, 2023 first and 2024 second for 16, 19 and 194.

Then flipped 16, 98 and 120 for 11.

I don’t see why we didn’t just consolidate that all into one trade. I get another team has to say yes and may be more inclined to say if you have another first, but it overall, it just seems like bad resource management.

Loomis is horrid on trade management. Saints get screwed in almost every trade.
