Navarro has had legal issues.. while Weatherspoon is a terrific leader on and off the field.

Both are clearly the best true OLB in this years draft.. Weatherspoon is faster.. and I believe he's the second best linebacker overall after McClain. Will be interesting to see what happens.

I hope the Saints get Weatherspoon.

Is he related to that Sylvia on the news?

The more draft discussion I watch on NFLN, the more I believe an opportunity to trade down from #32 is very, very likely. Colt McCoy looks to be landing late 1st by some pundits. Seems the teams at the top of the 2nd round wanting to draft a QB will have to play a game of leap-frog to get their QB maybe.

Trading down and into the 2nd round and picking up an extra 3rd is the move I see. Saints can grab equal value between #32 and #44. Unless someone falls and falls hard to #32 that is a can't-pass-on type player, rated top 15 in the draft. I just don't see that at this time.

not a Kiper fan but everyone follows his picks-

02/17 fresh mock-

Sean Weatherspoon, OLB, Missouri

Weatherspoon fits like a glove for the Saints as an outside linebacker in 4-3 system. He has ideal size for the position and is a tackling machine. Weatherspoon has the speed and experience to play inside or out, so adding versatility is also a good value proposition.

Ideal draft for me....

1st- Sean Weatherspoon
2nd-Daryl Washington
3rd- Cam Thomas
4th- Anthony Dixon (because we wont resign Bell)
6th- Freddie Barnes
7th- an o lineman from some random college that payton scouts and discovers gold again

no way.

16year old draft guru adamwilson says that either ATL or PHI will draft Weatherspoon, so we dont have a chance

atlanta may very well go with the defensive end from usc. dimitroff tends to go with position value.. and has gone QB, LT, and DT first round the past 3 years. i think he goes DE over OLB. but it's prolly 50/50 between DE and Weatherspoon.

the eagles i think will go defensive end as well.. andy reid loves drafting the line. if not the kid from usc, then i really think carlos dunlap is their guy.

I think it really depends on what we do with Grant. If hes gone like I think he will be we will go DE.If not then we go OLB. I would be happy with any of the three above.

Can't imagine a plan that includes Grant.

People hoping that Witherspoon falls are huffin.

BPA for the front seven unless a big trade happens seems to be most likely. Although very boring for T.D. talk.

I think the main team thats gonna determine what we do is Atlanta. Theyre the one that might pick Weatherspoon if not he just might fall to us. They also might go Griffen so it might be who ever they dont pick.

But I think thats our order. Griffen, Weatherspoon, Bowman. Whoever is left. Griffen over Weatherspoon. Weatherspoon over Bowman

Another team that might go Weatherspoon is the Eagles so if Atlanta goes Griffen and the Eagles go Weatherspoon then we get Bowman

Weatherspoon would be a great pick for us, but I think his stock will go up after the combine. I remember everyone talking about him when looking at Moore last year, and wishing he were coming out then.

Not sure if anyone posted this, but here's a link to NFLdraftscout.com's rankings of different positions with projected draft rounds for each.

OLB's
DE's
DT's

What I'd like to see.
1st) Weatherspoon OLB
2nd) Anthony McCoy or Jimmy Graham TE
3rd) Cam ThomasDT
4th) Greg Hardy DE
no 5th
6th) Eric Olsen C
7th) Hall Davis DE
