Probably the most pumped overrated player in the saints locker room. Idk if it was bc of his amazing story and a few good games his rookie year, but he hasn't played a stretch of dominant football yet many here talk about him like he's a shutdown corner. He sucked last year. Hopefully he will bounce back since he's healthy. But he's really just a decent #2 corner. He ain't no #1
And it's bc of plays like the one in your OP. Dude has no body control and seems to lack in technique and football IQ. He's losing the ball in the air, tripping over himself constantly, or losing body control and committing PI very often. Time to make the next step, Delvin!

He was injured last year. If you look at his stats in 2015, which I guess people forget he played outstanding.
This isn’t Breaux’s first big-time secondary performance this season. He has played in 99 percent of defensive snaps this season, and has yet to allow more than 60 receiving yards in a game. In over six games, he’s only allowed 45.2 percent of passes thrown his way to be caught, which is third-best in the league for those who have been thrown at 30 or more times. His 0.88 yards per coverage snap is sixth-best for cornerbacks with 180 or more coverage snaps, and his six passes defended are tied for second-most in the league.
This has all added up to a PFF coverage rating of 87.3, which is fifth-best in the league. His story is incredible, but it doesn’t stop at NFL starter. He is playing at a Pro Bowl level (according to our new 2015 Player Grades), and will help keep the Saints’ defense competitive.

Does the 87 include last years grade? He really was impressive his rookie year, and maybe I was too hard on him last year but I didn't see him make many plays last year. I thinks he's got elite physical talent, if he could be more polished technique wise he'd be a pro bowler. It's just hard to see that happening when you watch them colts highlights and see the untimely PI's.

Not sure if that was his final grade but he played lights out in 2015 BMS.
3rd runner up at PFF for breakout player of the year:
Third runner-up
Delvin Breaux, CB, New Orleans Saints
To show how good Breuax can be, turn on his tape against Jacksonville and see one of the best performances by a cornerback all year. He shutdown both Robinson (one catch, 2 yards, two passes defensed) and Allen Hurns (no catches, one interception) and was practically untouchable. He was third in the league in pass defensed (15) and allowed a 48.8 percent catch rate, fourth in the NFL.
One stat that sucks is he lead the league in touchdowns allowed at 10.

I'm sold
If he plays like that this year and lattimore and williams are healthy. That's a damn good trio
I think PJ breaks out and we know lats potential

As long as we're bumping shite threads...

Isn't it interesting what a difference a year makes? We went from dick riding Breaux and pining for Butler, to drafting the league's next elite corner and getting production from Crawley on par with Butler.
The secondary became a strength in ways we never imagined.
