Way too early draft projections:

CBS Sports Mock Draft

quote:

Round 1 - Pick 10
Mykel Williams EDGE GEORGIA • JR • 6'5" / 265 LBS
Chase Young is a free agent after the season. New Orleans has historically favored the bigger, more powerful edge rushers, which is the reason for Mykel Williams' selection in the first round. He is raw, but has the athletic potential to be a highly productive rusher.

Tankathon

quote:

10 NO
Malaki Starks

Walter Football

quote:

10. New Orleans Saints: Kenneth Grant, DT, Michigan
The Saints take the best player available and grab a defensive lineman to pair with Bryan Bresee.

In 2024, Grant has 32 tackles, three sacks, and five passes batted. It took time for Grant to work his way onto the field behind Kris Jenkins. However, Grant flashed as a sophomore. In 2023, Grant put up 29 tackles, four passes batted, 3.5 sacks, and an interception in backup duty. The 6-foot-3, 339-pounder has a rare combination of speed, athleticism, and strength. Grant has top-notch ability with a surprising ability to bend his big body. He can play strong when he wants or needs to, and Grant is fast with the ability to run plays down. Grant has a ton of upside, and he is not as dominant as he can be. He could be a better pro than college player, and Grant looks like a top half of the first-round talent for the 2025 NFL Draft.

USA Today

quote:

10. New Orleans Saints
USA TODAY Sports: James Pearce Jr., EDGE, Tennessee

The Draft Network

quote:

10. New Orleans Saints
Kelvin Banks Jr., OT, Texas

Drafting Taliese Fuaga was a good start, but the Saints need more offensive linemen. Kelvin Banks Jr. is flexible enough to play multiple positions, guaranteeing he'd fill a hole for the Saints up front next season.

Pro Football Network

quote:

10) New Orleans Saints
Malaki Starks, S, Georgia

Dennis Allen and his defense will be gone but not forgotten.

Malaki Starks feels like a New Orleans Saints safety. He possesses the kind of coverage versatility and ferocity in pursuit that was always present in their safeties not named Marcus Williams throughout the years.

In fact, Starks has flashed such coverage skills that it wouldn’t be surprising to see some teams give him a look at cornerback in a class with so much uncertainty at the position behind Hunter and Johnson.

Sportsnaut

quote:

10. New Orleans Saints: Mason Graham, DL, Michigan
Cam Jordan will be another year older, and the Saints could lose Chase Young in free agency, which means they’ll once again need more reinforcements along the defensive line. Getting the best defensive tackle in the draft with the tenth overall pick is an absolute steal and Mason Graham has future superstar written all over him.

The local radio station is starting to have Jim Nagy come on with more reports lately about the Senior Bowl and in the coming weeks. I'm really looking forward to it and putting this turd of aseason in the rearview mirror.

Nic Scourton from A&M fits our historically preferred DE profile perfectly. 6'4'' 280. People have him going in the late teens so I'm preparing for us to take him at 10.

I don’t really care for Starks. Dude seems really overrated. Every time I watched UGA, he seemed to be getting beat or taking bad angles.

He’s been moving up the mock draft boards. I’d rather pick one of the top DT or DEs and get one of the big WRs like Tre Harris, Jaylen Royals or Emeka Egbuka later in the draft.

We need a #1 WR, but I think we need DL and OL more.

He’s the kind of DE we would have taken in the past. It will be interesting to see what the new coaching staff wants. My preference would be to take the best defensive lineman available with the first pick then the best OG available with our second pick.

The strength of schedule changed after last nights game and some teams flipped (Jets & Panthers) based on it. I’ve updated and highlighted teams we are in the running with. I still don’t think we get above 8, but I guess if things fall correctly we could be anywhere between 5-11.

Our future QB is currently throwing dimes against Boise State. Use this years draft to protect him and give him weapons maybe even get some more picks incase we need to move up in 2026

Updated. Bears win and our lose moved us up to 9th.

Waiting on the Chargers and Raiders game to see if we draft 8th or 9th.
