Given we only received a 1st and 2nd for Payton (and gave up a third), would you try and make a similar deal to get Kyle Shanahan? How much more would you give up to make the deal?

Only if you got the GM too. They have built that roster beautifully.

So you built a roster predicated on DA being your coach only to trade for another guy?

This aint a defense for DA but i kinda think you have to see this through at this point.

If their FO didn't want to give him up I imagine it would be beyond a kings ransom.

If they did want to get rid of him then I would wait till they did and offer him the highest salary in the league.

by the time everything settled with that trade we essentially just got the equivalent of a late 2nd round pick for payton.

if denver traded sean away tomorrow, they wouldent do it for less than 3 consecutive 1st rounders

we got royally screwed in the deal because

1 - our front office are idiots, denver still would have made the trade even if we refused to give them that 3rd

2 - sean had the right to refuse any trade so he screwed us over

3 - sean would be a free agent next year so any team could get him for free by waiting until next year

the only solace we might get is if sean flops and is a bust, which could very well happen. he isnt as great as people made him out to be.

This scenario isn't necessarily based on it happening this season. but you are saying, you would rather keep DA bc of roster moves rather than go to a guy who led Matt Ryan to his best season and superbowl and has been making/winning playoff games with back up QBs?

Idk how you dont want to make this deal. HC is as important as a QB

I’d take Kyle right now over present day Payton. He kinda lost some of his hunger. Got fat and complacent. Maybe he finds it again in Denver.,

Oh, ok... I thought the premise would be for this year.

I agree about the importance of a coach but i feel if you made the moves you did up to this point you have to try and make it work with DA.

Believe it or not there are certain guys that may have signed because of familiarity with DA. Its a bad look to just swap out a coach last minute.

If things go badly, yea...you do whatever you have to to upgrade.
